Hive Creators Day Graz - Hi I'm @akipponn (Akiko) !

Yesterday, I spent almost 10 hours on a train and finally arrived in Graz.
A family I know from my time in India recently opened a restaurant in Graz (what a coincidence!), so I went to say hello and have dinner there. After returning to the hotel, a small hiccup happened, and when I started writing this self-introduction post… I fell asleep mid-sentence 😴

So here we go!

About Me

My username @akipponn may look a bit unusual — a friend gave it to me around the year 2000, and I’ve stuck with it ever since. If it’s hard to pronounce, feel free to call me with my first name Akiko or Aki.

I’m a creator from Tokyo, Japan, and I love making things — in IT, food, gardening, and more. My work is always a blend of these elements.

I live in Leipzig, east part of Germany, with my partner and our daughter. We met during a Couchsurfing barbecue in Linz, Austria, and became both private and business partner in India. I moved to my partner’s home country Germany.

As a Japanese, I’m a bit shy, so if I seem awkward in conversation ...... please don't mind it 😉

Me and Hive/Hive Blog

I’ve been using Hive Blog since the Stxxmit time back in 2016. At the time, I started working for a research project about Bitcoin and had just entered the world of blockchain and crypto-assets. A friend sent me a news article about Stxxm/Stxxmit, and I thought, “I love writing, and this lets me play without any initial investment — sounds perfect!” Since then I've been on hive ☺️

What I Write on Hive Blog

Over the years, the communities I post to have changed. Recently, I often write to Hive Garden, Silver Bloggers, and Food & Culture, a community I started. Sometimes I post in DIY communities too.

Now that the weather is warmer, I hope to post in Cycling and Beer Saturday as well.

Oh, and when I feel like exploding from frustration, I find comfort in Rant Complain, Talk. I appreciate the community is there ☺️

What I’m Looking Forward to at Hive Creators Day

Above all, I want to enjoy the event! As I mentioned earlier, I’m shy — but I’m also really looking forward to meeting everyone here.

I brought some Hive Garden stickers, so I hope to meet fellow gardeners (or future ones!). Also, I want to share more about the Food & Culture community I host. To that end, I brought my onigiri mold I produce in Leipzig, Germany and even a rice cooker 😂 — and I hope to serve some onigiri during the event.

@pupiko comes along with me too ☺️　I have trouble connecting speaker module to her Raspberry PI so it would be super if someone good in electronics helps me 🙏

昨日は10時間ほど電車に乗って、グラーツに着きました。インド時代の知人がなんと最近グラーツにレストランをオープンしたというのでお夕飯を食べに行って、ホテルに戻ったら、ちょっとしたドタバタがあって、そのあと自己紹介を書き始めたら、書きながら眠ってしまいました。

それでは自己紹介のはじまりはじまり。

私について

ちょっと変わったユーザー名ですが、友人がつけてくれて2000年ごろから使っていて、変えられずにいます。ユーザー名が発音しにくかったらAkiko、Akiと呼んでください。シャイなので、うまく話せなかったら温かい目で見守ってください 😉

日本の東京出身のクリエイターで、IT、食、ガーデニングなどなど、いろいろな分野でものやコンテンツ、サービスを作るのが大好きで、仕事もそんな感じです。

ドイツ人のパートナーとオーストリアのリンツで開催されたカウチサーファーのバーベキューをきっかけに、インドで付き合い始め、今はドイツ東部のライプツィヒに家族3人で住んでいます。

Hive Blogは2016年のStxxmit時代から使っています。ちょうどビットコインに関する調査の仕事の依頼でブロックチェーン・暗号資産の世界に入った頃で、友人が送ってくれたニュース記事を送ってくれたのをきっかけに「書くの大好きだし、初期投資なしで遊べるなんて！」とStxxmitで記事を書き始めました。

イベントには2018年のStxxm Fest、2024年のHive Festに参加しました。
