Carzon Hall: A symbol of British Architecture and Educational Institution of Dhaka University in Bangladesh
Hello all of my Hiveian Friend! Welcome to you today's blog
I hope you are all doing well and healthy. I am also doing well by the grace of God. Today I will share with you a different structure. And that is Curzon Hall.
Curzon Hall is the heart of Dhaka University. The red colored building, the craftsmanship, the collection of all kinds of unknown flowers and the feelings of thousands of students is the name of Curzon Hall.
Curzon Hall is a British architectural masterpiece, the foundation stone of which was laid in 1904 by the Viceroy of India, Lord Curzon. After the establishment of Dhaka University in 1921, Curzon Hall was included in the science faculty of the university. Initially, it was part of Dhaka College, but later, after the establishment of Dhaka University, it was included in the university. The Curzon Hall of the university is a blend of Mughal and European architecture. This building was partially built following Muslim architecture. Dark red bricks were used in the construction of the building. Its arches and domes were made in the Mughal style. The prince of Bhawal financed its construction. Initially, it was used as a library for Dhaka College.
Curzon Hall mainly houses several faculties, notable among them are :
●The Faculty of Biology,
●Department of Chemistry,
●Department of Physics,
●Department of Fisheries,
●Soil, Water and Environment Department, ●Department of Biochemistry,
●Department of Microbiology etc.
Well, let me tell you my story, the story of wandering around Curzon Hall. When I was on my way home after giving my last chemistry practical exam, I suddenly remembered Curzon Hall. The sky was very cloudy that day. It seemed like it was going to rain heavily. I walked to Curzon Hall from my department, passing Doel Chattar. There were rows of double-decker red buses parked in front. After that, after showing my student ID, the guards there let me in. Because outsiders are prohibited from entering Curzon Hall, only Dhaka University students can enter there.
Upon entering Curzon Hall, I first encountered the Physics Faculty. There is a separate building there for semiconductor technology research. There is a very big wood rose tree next to the Physics Faculty. Every day, many wood roses are lying there, it looks like a bed of wood roses on green grass!
There is also a large building for the Chemistry Department which looks very beautiful. An interesting thing about Curzon Hall is that all the buildings are red in color, which I have heard is very nice. The students of the Chemistry Department have to work a lot in the beautiful Chemistry Department of Curzon and have to endure a lot of pressure in the lab.
There is also an electrical and electronic department with a bank behind it.
The natural beauty of Curzon Hall cannot be overstated. Surrounded by a variety of trees, flowers, and green grass, Curzon Hall looks amazing with its red and white buildings and combination of colors. Many flowers bloom here throughout the year.
Among them are notable garden daisies, sunflowers, cosmos, daisies, portulaca, and many other unknown types of flowers. The flowers seem to have grown like Curzon Hall.
Curzon Hall is not only a place for classes, there is also a large hall. Where exams are held, I have heard from many people who have given exams here before. They said that during exams, the beautiful Curzon Hall seems like a scary place😄.
The corridors of Curzon Hall are white in color and designed with it, which looks very beautiful.
In front of Curzon Hall, you can find fuchka and spicy pineapple makha. I had heard from many people that these are very tasty to eat. So I also ate pineapple makha that day, they were really tasty.
After that, I walked around a bit and took some photographs and headed home. The sky had become very cloudy when I arrived, so I quickly took a rickshaw to get home without delay.
