Slowly and Steadily, We Enjoy our Day

It shall be a productive one, and the best so far for us in Jesus name. Obviously, today is Tuesday, but I can't help talking about my slow living Sunday. I know many will agree with me that Sunday is more honourable kind of, among all other days of the week. It is a day mostly characterized with freedom from stress. You know, no or less work, and to me I do feel Sundays have longer hours that crawls to another.

Maybe like some other people, I'm always deliberate about my living on Sundays. In fact, what made me change from attending my former church was that it was always taking almost all the hours. The service starts by 10am and sometimes closes by 5pm. So, in a quest to be more intentional about how I spend my Sundays. I started attending another church that starts by 7am and ends by 11 am. Even though, 7am seems early to go to church, I go earlier by 6:30am as a church worker to have our pre service prayer meeting. After the prayer meeting, service kicks off properly with opening prayer, worship, Sunday school, sermon, offerin, closing prayer and benediction. Exchange of pleasantries followed thereafter, we smile, laugh, hug, and leave for our various homes. That's the only thing that is fast on my Sundays.

So, after getting home, we still have many hours in the day to enjoy and relax. We make varieties, in fact, we do have the most delicious kind of food on Sundays. Of course, it's always a full house, my nieces and nephews come visiting but it never disturb me nor make our Sunday rowdy. They even make everything easier, as they quickly allocate the chores among themselves. They bring out the foodstuff, I cook, they clean up where I cook, I serve them their food and they wash the plates thereafter.

While we all sit and relax, they suggest some interesting movies to watch. It's always a calm atmosphere, since no one wants to be sent out. They all clap and smile once the movie starts. So, the next two hours, we turn our house to a cinema and share some biscuits, smiling and relaxing.

Shortly after we finished seeing ing the movie, it is their time to perform musically. We bring out the piano, we sing together and they play the piano in turn. It is always a fun-filled Sunday with us. When the children are satisfied, they move outside the room to play under the trees, while I use that moment to take a sweet nap. This is how we live our Sundays, interestingly and calmly.

Attending church service on Sundays is good but something I wish it were possible to have a Sunday without church. I mean, a Sunday being a Sunday without the church attachment because some of those days, the church service ends us chopping off almost all the day 😅

Lol! Nowadays, we can now attend early morning service (first service) and come back early.

Your Sundays are always amazing and fun with your family. What is a whole fun without having people around to celebrate with? But which church starts by 10am and ends by 5pm? That’s too long hours. I would have left, too because the remaining time left wouldn’t be enough for me to spend and relax.
