New Life: Mindfulness
Hi guys, I hope our week is going smoothly. I have come to share my own part on this week's mindful Monday prompt. Guys, just like mindfulness mean different things to different people, mindfulness to me is mostly about being conscious about time. Strange right? That is just what it is. It is being conscious of managing my time well.
Before I embraced minimalist lifestyle, I wasn't this conscious of time, I used to do things anytime of the day. Sometimes, I would procrastinate and carry over a day's task to another day. The consequences of that time wasting and procrastination used to have a bad toll on me. Imagine, as a building material supplier that I am, I go out for survey on sites and to see how I can locate new sites and approach the clients. However, a little delay may make me lose the job, as other suppliers might have made the first move. Also, it is expected that I be proactive and be prompt in my delivery of materials to sites. Any little delay could cause a lot of havoc at sites, and the clients could just reject the supply. All those were affecting me and I thought of possible ways to scale through.
Thanks goodness, things are not the same again, I have been learning and growing since I started my minimalist lifestyle. At first it was just about reducing and avoiding food wastage, cutting cost and repackaging of items. But now, I have learnt that minimalist lifestyle is beyond making good use of money and it tems. It includes being conscious and mindful of time. I'm now so conscious about the things I do with my time and ensure it is what is worth it. I took my time to identify the time wasting activities I used to engage in. I discovered it usually on my phone, like watching various contents, being on various time consuming apps nd all. So, I started being mindful of every of my activities. I deleted some apps that needed to be deleted. I engage in more productive activities like writing and reading on this platform and promoting my business on other social media platforms.
I ensure I don't delay today's tasks till another day. Having highlighted my activities for the day, I don't stop until I carry them out one after the other, which has now been more helpful in my business. Minimalist has really thought me how to be mindful of time and I'm grateful for this lifestyle.
