"Diligence, the mother of great luck"// my favorite quote

Hi guys, I really hope you are doing fine. I have come to share with you my favorite quote and how much I have observed it work for people. " Diligence is the mother of good luck." If anyone wants to become anything great in this world, it has to be through diligence. Nothing comes easily, they say. You have to work for whatever you wish for. Even the holy Bible says, anyone that is diligent in his or her work will work before kings.

Diligence has really helped me, the reason why I am where I am today. I came from a very humble background where we need to strive to get anything. Growing up, no one was ready to give us anything on a platter of gold. So, from a very little age, I have learnt to be hardworking. In fact, I got all my textbooks I used in high school as prizes. In my school once you emerged as the overall best student, you get a textbook on that particular subject as a prize. So, I had enough textbooks which also lessened my mother's burden.

When I entered the university, the journey wasn't that hard, I was already making money because I was engaged in some menial jobs as at then. I also had a very diligent friend that was into construction work, I would visit him on site, watch how they supplied them with building materials. I picked interest in it and learnt it, even when I was still an undergraduate. Immediately, after my graduation, I started going out, moving from site to site, telling them I could supply them. Some would look at me, as a young lady, and just ignore me but overtime, I started getting opportunities to supply and life started getting better for me.

My biggest luck so far was from a king. Yes, a king. I never knew it was a king's project. In fact, I was just going to do my hair but in a new area, someone just described it to me. Then, I saw that construction was going on, I alighted from the cab I was in, and approached the site engineer. They were moved that such a young lady like me could go out to earn a living in a legit and honourable way. They were glad that I didn't sit down and wait for a boyfriend to sort my bills. Hence, they decided to give me the opportunity to supply and it was massive and life-changing. That's how much luck, diligence can bring one's way.

I used to wonder how some people sit down idle and complacent. They wait for people to give them free money and murmur when it's not forthcoming. The truth is that everyone has responsibilities. People can't always be at your beck and call, when it comes to giving you things. It's only your hard work that pays, and your diligence that could bring you great luck.

Funny enough, I visited a shop some months ago to sew a dress, but I was amazed at the designer's demeanor. She told me to come back for my measurements and that she wanted to sleep at the moment. I was so dumbfounded, she didn't even offer me a seat. While I was standing and
wondering what happened. Another customer arrived, wanting to collect her dress that she had given the designer two weeks before that time. To our utmost surprise, the designer said the customer can go away with her fabric, because she had not sewn the cloth. It was not that she had been busy sewing but because it was a fasting period. She said she used to feel sleepy while fasting. That was the reason she gave for not sewing the cloth she had been given a while ago. The customer was disappointed and I also took my clothes away without looking back. I wonder how that attitude would bring her luck. No ritual can beat diligence, it's indeed the mother of good luck.
