Libya

This video is one of the most accurate to what I've experienced in my country during the #crisis in 2011.

Can't speak for others, but I never experienced anything bad from Al-Gaddafi.

Compared to the current #civilwar, it was a paradise. But who am I to know?

So it's true that Ghadafi's death was because he wanted to shift to a somewhat gold standard.

I don't know if that's the reason, but he did want many things that made him enemies.

(It's been a long time... I forgot if the gold standard thing was just a proposed idea or a plan.)

I was trying to look this up a year ago its why I asked u back then about Ghadafi's ruling before and after if you remember. I was quite curious why the west killed him and Saddam back then.

One thing I know for sure, there are multiple groups that have something to gain for killing him, but I (mostly) don't know what is it

While I haven't experienced anything bad from his rule, he did declare wars, publically execute traitors & restrict some information spreading.

So why did the civil war break out there? Situations in Libya were once more complicated and worse than they are now. I remember seeing the news all the time. 😀

If you watch the video, it talks about three factions at the end.

Each of these factions has an equal potential of controlling the whole Libya, so they battle (in land or in politics) to get more of the land by the end. That, and there are many smaller armed groups fighting too.

Are Turkish drones still there?

I don't know, but one of the factions is still allied with Turkey.

Honestly, I don't care which side of this war wins, or if Turkey occupied Libya as long as everything after the war becomes better for the average civilian than our situation right now.

It's not bad these days because we're in a Stalemate/Cold War stage, they battle by talking with each other, but we might be one victim away from this civil war turning hot again.

I don't know any more details because everyone here thinks different things of what's happening.

This is a very bad situation. I was watching it years ago on TV.
But people were saying that with Gaddafi everything was fine.

Yeah, for people living in Libya, there were some inconveniences but it was mostly good under Gaddafi's rule.

There's a woman I know whose husband got executed as a traitor under Gaddafi's rule, but while I believe he's a good person, his actions would look suspicious, (meeting up early to pray in Mosque in which people plotted a rebellion,) so I can't blame any side of this mess.
