I think I may have gone a bit overboard with the collages this week. Please note, I don't compete in the contest. I just have fun (obviously) making collages.

The template for Round #186 was almost a blank slate.

In each of my two collages, the building became central to the image. I began with no plan to make my first one. I just wanted to make something fanciful, where people and animals got along amicably. As you will note from my source list, the additions to the blog kept growing.

When I started the second collage, I had the sense that there was no overarching concept behind my fanciful exercise. So I started with a concept this time.

I think it's quite obvious that the gentleman (and he is gentle) in the foreground is caring for an injured rabbit. Other animals are in the scene and they are obviously also quite comfortable with the man.

I guess my two collages are thematically related, in that both show the gentle potential in nature, both human and otherwise. This theme for me is a corrective to all the brutality that has been given wide press this week.

Sources

As is evident from the list provided below, I borrowed liberally from LIL, the LMAC Image Gallery. I thank each author who contributed these valuable images.

I also borrowed liberally from Pixabay. My thanks to those authors, also.

In making the collages, I used Lunapic filters for each at different stages. I also used GIMP, Paint, and Paint 3D. Many of the images I borrowed had to be modified (e.g.: replace the face on the children because the faces were recognizable; color in the passenger and saddle on the crocodile).

The following process GIFs show the major steps I took in arriving at the final collage. Process was chaotic so many steps are missing:

LMAC and LIL

As always, the LMAC Gallery of Images, LIL provided me with essential elements for my collages. Anyone on Hive can contribute to the library and everyone can borrow from it. Learn about the procedure here.

We have had some spectacular contests with handsome prizes this fall season in LMAC. Our list of winners for Round #186 was published today. Check it out to see the remarkable art on display. Perhaps you will be inspired to make a collage and join in the fun. As @shaka has said many times, everyone is an artist. I personally can't resist the temptation of the weekly template photo.

Thank you for reading, my blog. Peace and health to all. Yes, we can get along :)

Both collages show your feelings for animals, I think you would have made a good veterinary doctor! 🐶
I loved both of your creations, if you were contesting I would have a hard time choosing which one to nominate for the poll.😁

Thank you very much! Yes, I do love animals. The first collage evolved slowly but the second was clear before I started. Funny how that happens, isn't it?

Thanks for your great LIL pictures. They really helped. Don't work too hard 🌼

When a person works hard and combines many pictures, then a beautiful picture is made, the way we see that you also made this picture with a lot of hard work.

This theme for me is a corrective to all the brutality that has been given wide press this week.

Both collages are wonderfuly antagonistic to this, @agmoore. And moreover, they are fantastic and honest expressions of the big heart you have for the animals.
The colorfully decorated mount - This is what people do when they love their animals and are proud of them. And how gently the man in collage 2 holds the rabbit, that is so lovingly depicted.

I would put them both into the race if I had the power. :-D

Thank you very much, my friend @quantumg. The template was an open scene this week, and I felt free to fill it with whatever was on my mind. As is usually the case, I filled my mind, and the scene, with pleasant thoughts.

My collages may be a bit literal, but you are right--they are sincere. I really appreciate that you see my 'heart' in them. We both love animals so this visual language speaks for both of us.

I hope your little Frieda is enjoying the fall season. I think of her sometimes almost as the LIL canine mascot--but of course she shares that with our LMAC virtual mascot, Lily 🌼

Warmest regards 💐

Your collages depict your empathy and what a gentle soul you are A. G. We need to protect the earth and live in peace. So much violence happening in the world that a life seems to mean nothing.

Love the fellow with the injured rabbit and the other little animals there. 😊

your empathy

I was thinking about you and @omra-sky when I made the second collage, believe it or not. I was thinking about how you befriend little furry neighbors and how they recognize your friendship. But I thought mentioning that would be corny, so I left it out of the blog 😄 I have befriended mice, but never had a squirrel or skunk friend🐿🐦

Thanks very much for your comment. Hope you get a lot of card playing in, my friend @redheadpei

Thank you for the unexpected smile you put on my face this morning. 😊Something Bob Marley once said has always stuck with me. "The people who (are) trying to make this world worse are not taking the day off. Why should I?"

My dear @adncabrera,

Thank you for your kind words. You always bring a perceptive and generous eye to the work. I did enjoy (always enjoy) providing all the details you notice. It is a place I go to when I make a picture like this, and I hope to bring others with me. I'm so very glad you were able to go there :)

Hope your week in peaceful. I'm looking forward to see the collage you create this week.

Take care. A hug to you my friend.
