RE: Easter-2025

I love this!! I went to Europe with my mother in 1972. We happened to be in Vienna at Easter time. It was unforgettable. There was Easter all around. The pastry shops were filled with Easter specialties. There is nothing like that in the U.S. (not where I have lived, anyway). Although, in my new neighborhood there were a lot of houses that displayed bunnies, eggs and other Easter symbols on their lawns. We did not. Maybe next year....

The holy water (in people's faces) was my favorite photo, I think.

Agree, that tradition belongs to good old Europe... And Wienna is such a great cultural capitol of it all! Ancient postcards I see on display from time to time, hint it was even more marvelous than nowadays. 😃 If you may want to spend a few more minuts, do check this lovely blog - his babygirl is growing, and he develops a great ritual of hiding and egg hunting. I simply stand up and applause.
My fave pics I think I havent shared (yet), leaving it for next post. Portraits of two girls with close-up faces. 🙂

Thank you for that referral! What memories that brings back. My own childhood finding eggs in the yard, and more poignantly my children's childhood. I can see them with my mother making a mess on the kitchen table, coloring eggs. Then re-hiding the eggs, over and over again, in the morning because they wanted to keep finding more.

Such sweet times those pictures brought back.
