Hola, amigos de Ecency. Barco varado no factura, así que no he perdido tiempo durante las vacaciones. Lewis, alias favorito de un escritor amigo mío, ofreció este año un curso de verano de escritura emocional como parte de lo que él y su equipo llaman: No Talleres (de escritura). Ya en el 2024 tuve el enorme placer de asistir a otro de estos curiosos No Talleres, en forma de curso introductorio de escritura creativa, en el museo de la historieta (Vitrina de Valonia, en la Plaza Vieja). Al igual que la de ahora, fue una experiencia fascinante, intensa, enriquecedora. Este segundo curso lo auspició Nodo Habana, un emprendimiento singular en Malecón y Lealtad.

Cinco clases, de la que esta fue la penúltima: Safari literario fotográfico. Una novedad para mí, pues es la primera vez que en un curso de escritura nos relacionan la literatura con otras artes. Principiamos con una conferencia sobre fotografía a la que siguió un ejercicio de escritura inspirado en fotos del profesor. Luego nos repartieron otro ejercicio individual. A mí me tocó tratar de hacer una foto que representara una emoción. Y salimos de safari.

Caminamos a pleno sol, cazando cualquier cosa que atraparan los ojos. Yo, por supuesto, pensé mucho en Ecency y en la gran familia de Hive. Desde que estoy aquí, hace un par de meses, sueño con poder pasar un curso de fotografía que me ayude a mejorar mis post.

Pronto le haré una entrevista que pondré por aquí, pues tiene ideas muy interesantes sobre como mezclar sus dos profesiones para ayudar a los pichones de escritor, pero no solo a ellos. The professor gave me some express advice on the go. He told me how to look for the golden ratio, unusual angles, and unexpected conjunctions, like the reflection of a luxury hotel in a puddle of murky water. He is now experimenting with conceptual photography.

We toured a section of Old Havana under a smiling sun. Of course, as was bound to happen, we ended the tour at a café. One of those rare little places starting to pop up in central areas of the city, owned by artists or people with artistic interests. They serve the same as everywhere else, but seasoned with books, good music even if it's not trendy, and a relaxed service that cares more about the physical and mental well-being of the clients than consumption.

Lewis is a psychiatrist and a graduate of the Onelio Course, the most prestigious Cuban course in narrative techniques, taught by experts at the Onelio Jorge Cardoso Training Center, located at 5ta and 20, Miramar.
