RE: CLOSED - Coffee Conversation: Event No. 97

Let's see: French press or Moka (in my country we usually call it Greca)?
My impression is that French press coffee is usually smoother, regardless of the roast, variety or blend you use. I think, as an inveterate drinker and observer, without being a specialist, that it has to do with the moderation of the temperature that is achieved with the filtering in press, which is usually slower. Moka, on the other hand, passes through the filter at full steam and ejects jets of that boiling manna. It gives a denser coffee, since it literally drags all the substance from the bean.
I say here in this, my physical-chemical fantasy! 😆🙃
The truth is that if a friend gave me a choice, in my heart I would choose the Moka coffee, although I understand that the French press is more ceremonious and more appropriate for entertaining. I also know that if my friend wants to pay attention to me, I would let him use his French press and it would also be a great joy for me to give him that opportunity: I would explore the flavors, textures, aromas and I would surely have an interesting and imaginative conversation with this friend about the differences between both ways of making coffee.
Next time you come visit, we'll try French press coffee... and will have lots of coffee brewed in the moka pot as well 😸
That's coffee rhythm! 🤣
Hehe! La greca :)
The coffee in greca (moka pot) is more intense, the filtered ones are softer but the range of flavors that are perceived in the coffee are more, it is my impression, I am not an expert just a coffee fan, LOL
Here my try of making a press coffee for this conversation, hehe
ps: I have never try a french press myself ;)
I can say that your coffee maker looks fantastic. Delicate color! But, truth be told, the pastry is quite distracting to me!!!!! Hahahahaha...
Hehe!! After I commented you with that gif I had to go for a pastry 😆😋 with a coffee of course ;)
First time I've seen a French press 😃 but from what I see the greca produces an intense flavored coffee. Well, that's my impression

Thank you very much!
Thank you so much, @topcomment 😁
I would describe the Moka as more similar to espresso coffee, because water comes under pressure, while French press is the simpler method. I will say that both will brew an excellent coffee, yet very different and it is up to everyone’s personal choice which will fit him better. I won’t refuse either! 😁
Right. Decisions are sometimes difficult due to lack of knowledge. I need to sito increase my press coffee culture (a sacrifice 😂😂😂😂). @marlyncabrera and others will have to help me (another sacrifice 😂😂😂😂).
Seriously speaking, it's true what you say, although milder, press coffee has more nuances.
A hug @mdosev , and happy coffee day!.
I'm willing to make sacrifices, too, and let you treat me to all kinds of coffee to nurture my culture 🤭
Hahahahaha... Since we're a sacrificial and studious people, we'll make an exchange and put up posts to atone.
Yes it goes!
I'm do it too.
As long as I work and without sweets! Sacrifice!
😸😸😸😸😸🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂
Happy to help!
This is a provocation. Seeing that cake accompanying the coffee is a delight.
That one rests in peace, hehe. It happens to chocolate when it's still too young to die, hehe. I made a cornstarch and banana sponge cake yesterday; it's gluten free and low in sugar, really good 🤭😸 I'm saving you a piece!
I have only tried it once with a French press and it was not enough to notice the big difference it can have with the coffee prepared in greca. In my city there are few places where they prepare them with press.
Happy day dear friend.
A very thorough analysis. It seems to me that in our culture the most commonly used is Mocha. Everyone chooses their favorite depending on how they want their coffee. I really liked that angle of the photo of that beautiful mug.
A delicious cup of coffee for this Sunday.☕
Very good answer, you are giving importance to your friend to share and talk while preparing the coffee in different ways.
