Instant Joy: The Quick Fix That Never last

[Source](https://unsplash.com/photos/woman-in-brown-and-black-button-up-shirt-smiling-rEfbRIdvykc)We live in a world that sells happiness in bite sized pieces fast food, fast fashion, fast likes, fast love. Scroll, click, buy, feel good. For a moment. Then what?

Instant joy is the sugar rush of emotions. It hits quick, tastes sweet, then leaves you empty. That new phone? Thrilling until the next model, version drops. That viral video? before you know it its old , Hilarious until you forget it in an hour. That impulsive purchase? Exciting until the credit card bill arrives.

Why We Chase It Life gets heavy. Responsibilities pile up. Stress weighs us down. So we reach for quick hits of happiness because:

It’s easy. No effort, no waiting.

It distracts us. For a second, we forget the hard stuff.

Everyone else is doing it. FOMO is real.

But here’s the truth: Instant joy is a temporary escape, not real happiness.

The Problem With Quick Happiness It Doesn’t Stick Like junk food, it satisfies fast but doesn’t nourish exactly what has happen to me . You’re left craving more, never truly full.

It Makes Real Joy Harder to Feel When your brain gets used to quick dopamine hits, the slower, deeper joys like finishing a project, building a friendship, or growing through struggle start feeling boring.

It’s Expensive Not just in money, but in time, energy, and peace. Chasing highs leaves you exhausted.

What Lasts Instead? Real joy isn’t flashy. It’s quieter, slower, and built not bought. Try this:

Savor small moments. The first sip of coffee. A deep breath outside. A text from someone you love.

Do something hard (and finish it). The pride of learning a skill, fixing a problem, or pushing through when you wanted to quit? That sticks.

Connect for real. Put the phone down. Listen. Hug. Laugh until your stomach hurts.

Help someone. Nothing fuels joy like making someone else’s day better.

The Choice You can keep chasing instant highs or you can invest in joy that lasts. One drains you. The other builds you.

Next time you reach for that quick fix, pause. Ask: "Will this matter tomorrow?"

If not, maybe skip it. And do something that will. happiness is the secret to everything in life like me i usually make myself happy by watching a comedy show that will make me feel great and anytime i feel down like my mood has switch for just no reason i try switching it back with a comedy show that makes me feel good. Always find something that will make you happy never you feel down because you can just be happy for 24hrs without something switching your mood.

Life is a choice to be happy always is your choice to choose, and always make sure you are happy.
