My response to HiveGhana weekly engagement week #21

We have all been bored in our lives at some point. How did you feel? What did you think was that cause and how did you deal with it? Share with us how you deal with boredom. I bet we all will pick a thing or two to keep us engaged in times like this.

How did you feel?

I always feel terrible and lost; I feel abandoned and not loved, which is not a good feeling. This has made a lot of people fall into depression and even commit suicide. Can you relate to that feeling? Like being locked up in an enclosed place and just seeing the four corners of the room. Boredom is a kind of conflict in the head and mind that makes you feel trapped in your own world. Whenever I am in that mood, I become temperamental toward everyone around me, even myself, which is not really a good thing to deal with. The feelings vary according to our personalities.
Most people who are prone to being bored are mostly extroverts. When we don’t get to engage in activities that keep us going and stable, it becomes a headache, while an introvert is fine being on their own and having their space. They don’t really feel bored because when they talk out loud, they tend to talk to themselves, and when they keep the words within, they feel like they are thinking. I did my research on this, and that was their feedback. I don’t get bored.

What did you think was the cause?

A lot of factors contribute to my boredom. The first is pressure. When I get pressured, I don’t get to achieve what I have been pressured for. In time, I get worried and begin to feel disappointed before I know what is happening I get into that space of boredom, and I begin to feel unhappy. Even after achieving that task later, I kept worrying about why I couldn’t do it at the right time. Before the escalation, I became bored and stopped feeling things around me.
Another factor is not getting the usual attention I get from people around me, and I begin to feel lonely and abandoned; it begins to eat me up. I didn’t know how to communicate it, and I wouldn’t want to portray that trait of an attention seeker.
Also, when I have nothing to do, nothing to occupy my head and mind is another cause of my boredom. I will be bored to death, thinking about things am not supposed to think about, looking down on myself, and a lot of negative things

How did you deal with it?

First, I need to realize that my problem is boredom, then figure out what led to the boredom and figure out the best resolution to it. For instance, when I am bored and don't get attention, I begin to go through my phone contacts to look for a couple of people I can chat with and talk to, so that helps me.
For stress or pressure, I go out to a cool and good-ambiance spot or lounge where I listen to cool music to calm my nerves and get myself back together. That way, I get back to being my normal, lovely girl.

Thanks for stopping by.

There is no boredom when one is active.

Glad you figured it out.

while an introvert is fine being on their own and having their space. They don’t really feel bored.

I agree with you on this point. I don't remember when I felt the boredom last time. I always have something to do that keeps me busy.

The solution to any problem begins with the identification of the problem. When you accept there is a problem and what causes it,finding a remedy becomes easy.

As you have mentioned the causes quite precisely, I am sure the tackling of your boredom is pretty easy for you.

boredom is a big problem for extroverts because they love attention, I know someone like you who feels the way you do when she doesn't get the attention she needed...

It feels to me that a lot of what you describe is not in fact boredom but more than hint of depression, anxiety, and loneliness which can be related. I do hear the elements of boredom but the related message is coming through a bit more for me. I hope you are ok, Temitope 🤗Sending you a big !Hug and lots of !LUV ... shout if you ever need to chat! There are always dreemers around to support.

I dropped in from Dreemport this evening.

Yes, Most of these things does help with boredom.

Chatting with people or going out as long as one doesn't stay idle, they will definitely get back on track in no time.

Thank you for sharing. #dreemerforlife
