Family bonding is a very important aspect that shouldn't be taken with levity. It enhances oneness and unity within the family. There are a lot of things that enhance family bonding which include dining together, playing together, and gisting together.

But recently the use of mobile phones has really gotten the best of everyone, everyone is either busy chatting online or rather busy on social media platforms.

I paid a visit to a family last year and I could see how engrossed everyone was, with their mobile phones. The father was busy reading online news on his phone, the mother was busy checking out trending fashion wear online while the children were busy playing games on their mobile phones. Even while eating they were all busy on their phone for the duration of time i stayed with them. There is no form of heart to heart talk as a family. Everyone was busy with their mobile phone. No special moment at all, is either they are busy with work or their phone. I don't against the usage of phone but it should be well managed without having a negative impact on the family. With such kind of family if such an attitude persists. It can end up tearing them apart.

Family is everything to a man's life. The first institution in life we get to meet first in life is our family. We should have a time we discuss, chat, and engage with each other as a family.

At times the use of a phone might be a form of distraction when not used properly. I watched a video clip online where a housewife is complaining that her husband is not always giving her attention and She said the reason why is because her husband has a new wife and when she was asked who the new wife was, she pointed at her husband phone, she continued by saying her husband gives attention to his mobile phone more than her. Can you see how the misuse of mobile phones can tear a family apart?

I believe there should be balance in everything, Every family must create a family time where everyone is not with his or her mobile. The use of mobile phones during family time can be a form of distraction that can be avoided. This family time should be a time when everybody will be together without any distractions. Family time could be during dinner or any free time where they play, chat, and have fun. It should be a time when everyone's attention is not divided in order to enhance the bond within the family.

For instance, in my family, I do have family time with my husband we talk about how our day went, chat and gist, watch movies together. We ensure we create balance in what we do.

The advantages of mobile phones can not be over-emphasized but it shouldn't be a tool of distraction that will tear your family bond. Having a special moment with our family is an amazing moment and should not involve any distractions that will disrupt the moment.
