My Cleaning Activity For Thursday, the 25th of April, 2024.

Good day, fellow hivers, welcome to my blog. I carried out my cleaning activity for the day. Today I moved around my immediate community. I saw that some places were littered with refuse, especially the gutters. I noticed that the rate at which hazardous wastes are being thrown away into the community is alarming. These materials do not decompose, but when burnt affect the ecosystem. It affects the health of the community members

Hazardous waste poses a risk to human health and the environment if not handled correctly. Waste becomes hazardous because it can be toxic, react strongly with other chemicals, or cause corrosion. Common examples include light bulbs, pesticides, electronics, batteries, and paints. Proper disposal is crucial when managing hazardous waste.

The people are exposed to the harmful components of electronic waste, as shown by this. These are constantly on fire, emitting harmful fumes into the atmosphere and polluting underground drinking water.
This can result in spontaneous abortion, cancer, premature birth etc. Let's avoid indiscriminate disposal of refuse to make our environment healthy and habitable.
