My Cleaning Activity For Sunday, the 28th of April, 2024.
Good day, fellow hivers, welcome to my blog. I carried out my cleaning activity for the day. There are different refuse that people overlook, but can have a lasting effect on the environment.
Contrary to the commonly held belief that cigarette butts decompose in a matter of days, they take a total of ten years to decompose because of cellulose acetate. In reality, cigarette butts pose a significant danger to the environment, as they contain harmful substances like arsenic, which can pollute soil and water.
Plastic litter is another danger to the environment and its inhabitants. Both land and sea animals have mistaken it for food. Living organisms mistake plastics for food. They reduce the stomach capacity because they cannot be digested when consumed by animals. It can have a long-term effect on the animals' eating habits, eventually killing them. Plastic and cigarettes were found in animals' stomachs, killing many species of marine animals, including birds, whales, dolphins, and turtles.
We all must work to reduce the use of single-use plastics and properly dispose off any waste, including cigarette butts, to protect our natural environments and the creatures that live in them.
These pictures show how I carried out my cleaning activity.
As my blog continues to grow, please continue to support and engage me.
