My Cleaning Activity For Saturday the 13th of April, 2024

Good day my fellow Hivers, welcome to my blog. Today I carried out my cleaning around the Okelerin community in Oyo state Nigeria. I visited one of my friends in this community, but on getting to his house, I was told he had gone to the church with his family.
I pulled a call through to find out if he was around the house, I had to leave the environment as they were having a program at the church.
But as I was about to leave I noticed their environment had been littered with different kinds of waste. I picked up these wastes and packed them into a garbage bag.

When people come into contact with contaminated water or consume food that has been contaminated by it, they can contract diseases such as cholera, diarrhoea, typhoid, gastroenteritis, and other water-borne diseases. These diseases can have severe health impacts, especially on vulnerable populations like children and the elderly.

The presence of solid waste in streets, drains, gutters, and public places can further aggravate the problem. Rainfall or other water sources can carry the waste into water bodies, contaminating them and posing a risk to human health. We can make public announcements on social media and place restrictions by punishing anyone who is caught throwing away refuse indiscriminately. Human health and the environment need to be safeguarded from unsanitary conditions caused by indiscriminate solid waste disposal that have always led to pollution and outbreaks of diseases.
