My Cleaning Activity For Monday,15th January, 2024.

Good evening everyone, welcome to my blog. Today's cleaning activity took place in the student's hostel. I took some pictures to show how the environment is unkept around the student's area.

Everywhere was littered with beer bottles, plastics, polythene, papers, rags etc. I think it would be better if environmental health is included in the curriculum i.e. higher institutions of learning. The students are just concerned with obtaining the certificate.

They are not concerned about the positive change in behaviour that education brings into the lives of people.
Due to carelessness one of the students died recently from Cerebrospinal meningitis because they failed to observe personal hygiene and to keep well-ventilated rooms.

Contaminated water and poor sanitation are linked to transmission of diseases such as cholera, diarrhoea, dysentery, hepatitis A, typhoid and poliomyelitis. We need to keep a clean environment to prevent these diseases from spreading within the community.

The Neatness and cleanliness are not a function of how rich or poor you are but that of mentality and principle-Ikechukwu Izuakor
