My country is too generous to supply power to other countries, but we are dying in darkness

In Nigeria, there is one thing that tells us that power has been restored: That is when you hear the children echoes " NEPA" it has become a normal thing here. We don't see the power supply, we are always in darkness. I also want to say that sometimes when we see light been restored, it looks strange to us because we have become too use to darkness that light makes us feel uncomfortable. Hahahaha 🤣. That was just how I wish to express my unhappiness about our situation here.

It is so unfair that Nigeria as a country supply power to other countries and you will hear those countries saying that they don't know what it feels like to live in darkness. They don't experience darkness even for an hour. When we complain of not always having light or power supply in Nigeria, it sounds somehow to them. Meaning, how can your country supply power constantly to us and you say you live in darkness? Well sometimes I don't really blame them. I blame the government of the day. How can you be too good outside and become too bad inside? You take time to decorate your outside and forget about the decoration of your inside. We are actually the giant of Africa. Actually when you come close you will discover that we have no strength inside. What a pity!

I'm a typical example of someone living in darkness for more than 10 years now. Since the year 2014, my family and I have lived without power supply and we are gradually becoming use to darkness. All thanks to solar system. A lot of people around my area decided to go for solar system, but you know that not everyone can afford it. My family struggled to purchase one last year and things turn around for us. Even though I know we borrowed money from people to complete what we have to buy it, still at the end of the day we paid the money back. Today we have light in my house 247. I don't always go out to look for where to charge my phone again. I charge my phone every night and use it in the morning. The solar system we bought is a small one, and I believe that with time we will get the money for the bigger one that will carry our fridge and make life easier for me especially because always cooking new food everyday because I don't have where to store is really affecting me. But when I will have the money to buy a bigger solar system, I will have little work to do.

Every country needs light to survive. Without power supply, most companies will not work and that is where we have a lot of companies in Nigeria fold up because of the problem of power supply. I believe that this is the major work any leadership can do for it's country. If a country has good power supply, then every thing will fall in place. But whereby there is no power supply the citizens of a country will suffer.

It's good you purchased the solar panels. I can't imagine 11 years without power. With time you'll buy a bigger solar panel. We must survive in Nigeria.

Ten years without electricity is really a long time, I hope our story in Nigeria changes soon.

Power is one of the very important thing in the country but unfortunately is one of the things that is scarce. It hurts me how we are suffering in the area of electricity in this country. I pray things gets better soon
