I choose my friends and not the other way round.
Hello beautiful friends, welcome back to my space for this week. This is HSCP week 16. Talking about making good friends in school I believe that I have enjoyed it very well.

Recently someone sent me a dm asking me to be a friend. I was surprised because it has happened in a long while. We both belong to a WhatsApp group for a particular online study. I have not really noticed that person because we are more than 500 in that group and I can't go about knowing everyone in the group.
When his message came in I decided to ask him what he wants from me. He replied - I just want us to become friends. I smiled and replied back to him - I choose my friends and not the other way round. I know that he was not too happy with my response, but I don't really care because that is who I am. I am not going to compromise that because of anyone who I don't really know his intentions.
This is my conversations with him👇

WHAT I NEED IN A FRIEND BEFORE ACCEPTING THAT FRIENDSHIP
- Trust: I need a friend that I can trust. A friend who I can confide in and never doubt for any reason
- Unconditional love: I don't want friendship with benefits. Maybe a friend who is with me for what he or she will benefit. Love means given out. You can not love without given. So when I give out, I also expect to receive too.
- Understanding: I love an understanding friend. Someone who knows me well enough to accept my decision and also support me. I said that because if your friend don't understand you, he will be the first to stand against your decisions.
- A friend who can watch my back: I really do need someone who can defend me when I am not there. Someone who is always looking out for me and I can do the same for that person. Someone who only wants the best for, vise versa.
This is my own little contribution to the topic of week 16.
