HOMEWORK A NECESSITY FOR STUDENTS

Nice to have you all back to my blog. This is a beautiful week with alot of blessings from God.

Homework is a necessity for students, because it forms part of their learning activities. we can't take away completely when it comes to school for children. The reason why I said so is not because I love the homework or because I enjoy it, but is just part of the process. Sometimes I noticed that it is even the homework that helps the learnings understand what was taught in class earlier on. Maybe when the learner is busy solving one problem or the other that the whole thing will make sense. That is why is necessary.

Looking at what homework has done when it comes to school activity you may want to agree with me that it should not be removed totally, but I believe that we can still handle it in a more better and mature way. Some of the homework given to students are practically done by their parents. I said so because of the experiences that I had when my kids were still small and in primary school. When they come home with their homework it will be waiting for me to help them do it. Not just that I will help them do it, but I will be the same person that will end up doing the assignment or homework as the case maybe. A child in nursery one can't read obviously, so I have to read to understand what the assignment is saying, I will still be the person to tell the child what to write at the end of the day. The children don't really know how to do their homework. Then I kept asking if the assignment was meant for me or the kids.

For an adult I will fully support given them homework to take home so as to keep them away from getting too much involved with their phone. Our younger generation don't want to do anything good again only holding their phone. You can imagine what happens when they go to church on Sunday and sit at the back of the church. They just keep pressing their phones. They are not doing it because they are creating content but because maybe they play games or just chatting with friends online. So, given them homework will really help them to focus and read. Because I believe that as they go on research concerning the topic, they will keep learning more.

In conclusion concerning our topic, I agree that homework should be given to students and not their parents. What that means is that when we want to give the little ones homework we should give them what they can solve and not what their parents will solve for them. Because by the time you give a little child homework that is bigger than what the brain can carry, the parents will end up doing it for them. But for adults I will love them to go home with homework every weekend so as to keep them busy and less distracted.
