With my experiences in life and how far I have gone with money, I know that money is like air that needs to be trapped. If you don't trap it, then forget it because it will soon fly out and leave you with lots of regrets.

Do make yourself comfortable in my blog. Your presence is highly appreciated and I am not taking it for granted. The topic for the week is a great one. When I first saw it I asked myself lots of questions and I think it has also helped me to make good evaluation of what I have been doing with the money that I have made and what I need to do this year.

I will love to share something that I met four years ago and it really helped me. I had a group of friends who insisted that we should start saving money and use it to help ourselves. It is called - adashe. Adashe means like a weekly or monthly contribution. It is meant to be given to one person in the group each time it is gathered. I was reluctant at first because I was getting enough every month not to talk about setting some aside for some kind of contribution. I was literally forced into it by one person. At the end of the year when it was my turn to be given the money, I went home with a hundred and twenty thousand naira. WOW 😲! I was just surprised. I don't even know what to say when the money was given to me. At first I felt like I was given the money that belongs to someone, but at least I collected it with joy and went home with it.

That money was used to publish my first book. It was a dream come through. If I hadn't joined them in that contribution I wouldn't have gotten the chance to collect such money at the end. And it was really helpful.

WHAT IS MY DECISION FOR THE YEAR 2025?

Just like I did other years, I have decided that this year will not be exception. Any money that I get, I will have to remove a percentage for savings. Last year when I did it I got #200,000 and it helped the family to mold some blocks that will be used to build our houses when we get ready.
I have started making enquiry of how to join a group of people to make savings for the year. I got some group of teachers who are interested and we have agreed to start the first month of the year. At the end of this month there is a particular amount that every one of us will contribute and just one person will collect it. Then next month we will do the same which another person will take. So it will go round to everyone. When we got the end of the year we will end it to start next year again. This kind of contribution have helped a lot of people build their houses or even buy valuable properties for their families.
