Discipline is part of training for a child.

There are something that when you hear about it you will begin to wonder how it started and why people adopted such law in the first place. It not everything that works for people in UK that is working for us here. We are a people that believe in discipline. You can't just allow children to behave any how they want because of one thing called child services. What! This is not acceptable here abeg.

Child services or no child services, Africans are doing pretty well in raising up children in a proper way. Every parent know what is good for the child and we try our best to do it very well. It has never changed and I pray that it will never change. Though this days I see some of our people trying to copy the culture of other countries when it comes to child services.

CHILD WELFARE
One thing that I know is that there is this organization that makes sure that children are not abused by parents or any other persons around. This is put in place to make sure that children are brought up in a proper way and their rights not infringed. I know for sure that some parents take their own discipline too far by inflicting pain on the children in the name of corrections. Some children have been abused in school and even at home, which made me love what the child welfare is doing. Once they get to know about a child that is abused they take up the case to make sure such situations that repeat itself again. This is a good one. But telling me that I should not discipline a child is not acceptable because the Bible says that foolishness abides in the heart of a child and the rood of corrections will chase it away. A child is always thinking of going to places that will end up hurting him or her. Most times it is what they don't need that they are craving for.

WHAT BETTER WAY CAN THEY CARRY OUT THEIR DUTIES?
I believe that they over do things when they say that we can't correct a child by flogging or spanking. But they can also decide to bring out a better way of punishment for children. Things like asking them to do extra house chores. If it is in school, children should be given a portion of land to clear to stop them from doing what they did the next time. I also agree that some parents over beat their children and that needs to stop. You doing really know how healthy that child is, and when you try heating the child with something, it might end his or her life.

MY WAY OF DISCIPLINE
Maybe it might help someone here. I try as much as possible to see to it that I discipline my child by myself because I know where exactly to beat the child that won't bring problems. But when I see others beat them, I become afraid that something bad might happen to that child. So, I told people around me that when my child does something wrong I should be notified so that I will handle that child myself. Most cases I give the child punishment that will help him or her not forget in a haste next time. There is no mother in her right sense that will want to kill her child in the name of beating unless she is possessed.

In conclusion, child services should have a boundary. I have birth to the child not them. So, I believe that I should be allowed to take care of my own child the way it will be okay both for me and the child.
