Hello beautiful African people. I love the fact that we could come here to talk about Africa every week in this platform. I believe that we are all doing great.

For this week we have the topic that says - The influence of music on film and television. Does it really have any influence? That is the first question. I do believe that music have alot of influence in all the films that we watch today. In fact, some films that don't have music I don't like watching them. My joy in most of the film is when I see them playing music. Music gives our films life and makes it looks very interesting.

WHAT ARE THOSE ROLES?

Connection: Music helps connect us to the films when we are watching. It helps is making it feels real. When there is music in any film, people loves the films because of the music.

GIVES MORE UNDERSTANDING:
In any films that we watch and music is included in it. We get more understanding of what the movie is all about. Let's take for example, India films. Most of us here in Nigeria don't understand Indiana language. But because of the music in the film, we follow the film to the end and can understand what the message is. Sometimes we sing the song in the movie without even having to hear the language. The song brings more understanding in any movie we watch.

Explains the Culture of the people in the movie:
The music helps in making us know what culture is involved in a movie. When the music starts to play, you can guess what culture is about to be displayed. A good exactly of this is the Indian movies. Once you listen to the music in the film, you will know that this is an Indian movie.

Suspense: In most films, when something bad is about to happen, it is the music that will help the viewers to understand that something bad will soon happen. Some thing with good things happening, the music also comes first to alert you of what you should expect.

Emotionally attached: The music in a film helps us get emotionally attached to any film we are watching. You just want to watch that movie because of the music in it.

Talks about a character: Music also helps to explain what a character is all about. If a bad person is about to act, the music that will be played before his or her coming will tell us about the character.

In conclusion, the role os music in our films today is too much to be mentioned in just this piece of work. It will take a whole year to talk about the great influence of music in a movie. The few listed here is just an example of what we need to know.
