Meeting of friends

Eight days ago, I had the pleasure of attending an event organized by an HIVE community. In addition to enjoying part of this event, it was also the perfect excuse to meet up with my friend @brujita18 (Marcia).

Spending eight hours a day, five days a week at our workplaces allows us to get to know our coworkers very well, and we often find friends among them.

My working life at the institution where I am employed is divided into two parts: the first 12 years in Credit and the rest until now in Internal Audit. Obviously, during that first stage, I made friends whom I value greatly. The change of workplace was a little uncomfortable at first.

The first few days felt strange; I didn't know anyone, and at the same time I arrived, some health issues arose with my cats, which was quite a challenge. But as time went by, I adapted and got to know my coworkers.

Some of them are still my coworkers, others I appreciate very much, but only a few I call friends. Among them, one person stands out, and that person is my friend Marcia. We liked each other from the beginning. I think it's because we are both so expressive. We are the type of people who often don't say anything, but our expressions or body language speak for us. It's as if we have subtitles.

As we spent more time together every day, we got to know each other better. Since I'm someone who always talks about my cats, I somehow influenced her, and she ended up adopting a cat. I guided her through much of that process, and I was also the one who invited her to HIVE after discovering that she is passionate about creative writing.

Honestly, in the beginning, I don't know who had more patience with whom, because I'm not very good at teaching. It's not one of my strengths, and I don't have much patience for it. But now @brujita18 is an expert at writing and designing her posts, and she even has a community. Although I haven't told her, I want her to know that I'm very proud of her.

About two years ago, my dear friend retired, and I'm happy for her. It's true that we usually communicate by phone and see each other's posts, but it's always nice and good to see your friends in person, have a coffee, a juice, or something else while chatting and appreciating how they are doing in person.

So last Saturday, as I mentioned, my friend @brujita18 and I got together and enjoyed a delicious strawberry milkshake with a touch of mint and a cherry. It was really delicious. We talked about a little bit of everything: our families, how things are going at the office, our pets, the situation in the country, our expectations for the event we were about to attend. in short, we caught up and even so, we both felt that there wasn't enough time.

I have always said that friends are like jewels, and in Marcia's case, she is one that God put in my path. We are similar in many ways, we understand each other perfectly, and often, before I even say a word, she has already noticed that something is wrong with me. She is very perceptive. I am grateful to have her as a friend and I hope that our friendship will last for many more years.

Hace ocho días tuve el placer de asistir a un evento organizado por una comunidad de HIVE. Además de disfrutar parte de este evento, también fue la excusa perfecta para reunirme con mi amiga @brujita18 (Marcia)

El pasar 8 horas y cinco días de la semana en nuestros lugares de trabajo, nos permite conocer mucho a nuestros compañeros de labores y muchas veces entre ellos encontramos amigos.

Mi vida laboral en la institución en la que estoy se divide en dos partes, los primeros 12 años en Crédito y el resto hasta ahora en Auditoría Interna. Obviamente, en esa primera etapa hice amigos a los que valoro mucho. El cambio de lugar de trabajo al comienzo fue un poco incómodo.

Los primeros días me sentía extraña, no conocía a nadie y, además, al mismo tiempo que llegué, se presentaron unas situaciones de salud con mis gatos y fue todo un desafío, pero al ir pasando el tiempo me adapté y fui conociendo a mis compañeros de trabajo.

Entre ellos algunos siguen como compañeros de trabajo, a otros los aprecio mucho, pero a unos pocos los llamo amigos, entre ellos destaca alguien y ese alguien, es mi amiga Marcia, desde un comienzo nos caímos bien, creo que por ser ambas tan expresivas, somos de las que muchas veces no decimos nada, pero nuestras expresiones o lenguaje corporal habla por nosotras, es como si nos salieran subtítulos.

Al ir compartiendo día a día nos fuimos conociendo más y al ser alguien que habla siempre de sus gatos, de alguna manera la influencié y ella terminó adoptado una gata, la guie en buena parte de ese proceso y además también fui quien la invito a HIVE, tras descubrir que es una apasionada de la escritura creativa.

Sinceramente, durante sus inicios no sé quién le tuvo más paciencia a quien, porque no soy muy buena enseñando, no es uno de mis fuertes y no tengo mucha paciencia para ello, pero ya @brujita18 es toda una experta redactando y maquetando sus publicaciones, además ya hasta una comunidad tiene, y aunque no se lo había dicho quiero que sepa que estoy muy orgullosa de ella.

Hace ya unos dos años mi querida amiga fue jubilada y estoy feliz por ella, es cierto que solemos comunicarnos por teléfono y vemos las publicaciones de la otra, pero siempre es grato y bueno, ver a tus amigos personalmente, tomarse un café, un jugo o algo más mientras se conversa y apreciar de manera personal como están.

Así el sábado pasado, como ya mencioné, mi amiga @brujita18 y yo, nos reunimos, pudimos disfrutar de una rica merengada de fresa con un toque de menta y una cereza, estaba realmente deliciosa, conversamos de todo un poco de nuestras familias, de como están las cosas en la oficina, de nuestras mascotas, de la situación del país, de las expectativas del evento al que estábamos por asistir, en fin, nos pusimos al día y aun así ambas sentimos que el tiempo fue poco.

Siempre he dicho que los amigos son como joyas y en caso de Marcia ella es una que Dios puso en mi camino, nos parecemos en muchos aspectos, nos comprendemos a la perfección y muchas veces, antes de que yo pronuncie una palabra, ella ya ha notado que algo me pasa, es muy perceptiva, agradezco tenerla como amiga y deseo que nuestra amistad perdure por muchos años más.
