Famous murder cases in the 1990s
Talking and remembering the nineties is talking about many things, usually in these publications I highlight nice things like songs, singers, groups, movies and series, but there is also the dark side of these years, some time ago I made a publication of some scandals that occurred in the 90s, but I want to dedicate this one to some of the murders that were and still are news, so it will be this #ninetiesfriday.
James Bulger Murder (1993)
This murder occurred in the United Kingdom on February 12, 1993, the nearly three-year-old James Patrick Bulger went out with his mother to the New Strand shopping center, where he disappeared. Sadly, two days later, his mutilated body was found on a railway line near Walton & Anfield.
Security cameras at the mall caught Jon Venables and Robert Thompso stealing various items, including candy, a troll doll, some batteries, among others. They also caught Jon and Robert with James Bulger.
From the mall, after a tour of several places where they were seen by several people, they finally took the boy to a railroad track near the abandoned Walton & Anfield station, near Anfield Cemetery, where they began to torture him. The rest of what happened is so strong that I dare not repeat it, but what was most shocking is the age of the perpetrators, who by the time of the crime were 11 years old.
The Jeffrey Dahmer Serial Murders (1991)
Although all the murders committed by Dahmer did not occur in the 90s, it was in these years that it was discovered what this man was doing and after subsequent investigations it is presumed that he killed 17 people, was discovered when a man of color was seen walking handcuffed, this man led the police to the home of Dahmer, where upon seeing photographs of body parts is arrested, the rest is history, to the point that series have been made whose theme revolves around this serial killer.
Death of Nicole Brown Simpson (1994), OJ Simpson trial
It was 1994 and Nicole Brown Simpson the ex-wife of OJ Simpson, was stabbed outside her home with her friend Ron Goldman, the main suspect was her husband, who, was arrested after a televised manhunt, her case became one of the most media after the case of the Menendez brothers.
In 1995, at the end of the trial and after two hours of deliberation, Simpson was found not guilty. To date the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman are unsolved and OJ Simpson died in April 2024.
Selena Murder (1995)
In March 1995 Selena Gomez dies at the hands of Yolanda Saldivar, who was Selena's fan club manager and whom the singer later put in charge of her boutiques.
The singer and her family noticed that there were differences of money and documents both in the club and in the boutiques, so they had discussions on several occasions, which ended in the murder of the singer, when Saldivar shot her in a hotel room to which he had summoned her by deception and taking advantage that the singer needed documents for the tax return.

Hablar y recordar los noventa es hablar de muchas cosas, por lo regular en estas publicaciones destaco cosas agradables como canciones, cantantes, grupos, películas y series, pero también está el lado oscuro de estos años, hace ya un tiempo hice una publicación de algunos escándalos ocurridos en los 90, pero deseo dedicar está a algunos de los asesinatos que fueron y todavía son motivo de noticia, así será este #ninetiesfriday
Asesinato de James Bulger (1993)
Este asesinato ocurrió en Reino Unido el 12 de febrero de 1993, el niño James Patrick Bulger de casi tres años, salió con su madre al centro comercial New Strand, en el cual desapareció. Tristemente, dos días después, su cuerpo mutilado fue encontrado en una línea férrea cerca de Walton & Anfield.
Las cámaras de seguridad del centro comercial captaron a Jon Venables y Robert Thompso robando varios objetos, como caramelos, un muñeco troll, unas baterías, entre otros. También captaron a Jon y Robert con James Bulger.
Del centro comercial, tras un recorrido por varios lugares en los que fueron vistos por varias personas, finalmente llevaron al niño a una vía férrea cerca de la abandonada estación de Walton & Anfield, próxima al Cementerio Anfield, donde comenzaron a torturarlo. El resto de lo que ocurrió es tan fuerte que no me atrevo a repetirlo, pero lo que más impresionó es la edad de los perpetradores, quienes para el momento del crimen tenían 11 años de edad.
Los asesinatos en serie de Jeffrey Dahmer (1991)
Aunque todos los asesinatos cometidos por Dahmer no ocurrieron en los 90, fue en estos años que se descubrió lo que este hombre hacía y tras las posteriores investigaciones se presume que mato a 17 personas, fue descubierto cuando un hombre de color fue visto caminando esposado, este hombre llevo a la policía hasta la vivienda de Dahmer, donde al ver fotografías de partes de cuerpos es arrestado, el resto es historia, al punto de que se han hecho series cuya temática gira en torno a este asesino en serie.
Muerte de Nicole Brown Simpson (1994), juicio de OJ Simpson
Corría el año 1994 y Nicole Brown Simpson la ex esposa de OJ Simpson, fue apuñalada afuera de su casa junto a su amigo Ron Goldman, el principal sospechoso fue su esposo, quien, fue arrestado luego de una persecución televisada, su caso se convirtió en uno de los más mediáticos luego del caso de los hermanos Menéndez.
En 1995, luego de finalizar el juicio y tras dos horas de deliberación, se declaró inocente a Simpson. Hasta la fecha los asesinatos de Nicole Brown Simpson y Ron Goldman no están resueltos y OJ Simpson murió en abril de 2024.
Asesinato de Selena (1995)
En marzo de 1995 muere Selena Gómez a manos de Yolanda Saldívar, quien fue la gerente del club de fans de Selena y a quien posteriormente la cantante puso al frente de sus boutiques.
La cantante y su familia notaron que había diferencias de dinero y documentos tanto en el club como en las boutiques, por lo que tuvieron discusiones en varias oportunidades, lo que termino en el asesinato de la cantante, cuando Saldivar le disparo en una habitación de hotel a la cual la había convocado mediante engaños y aprovechando que la cantante necesitaba documentos para la declaración de Impuestos.
En resumen, estos son cuatro casos de asesinato sonados en la década de los 90 algunos nos llaman a reflexión, ya que pudieron evitarse, pero al mismo tiempo nos muestran como nuestra sociedad ha venido descomponiéndose gradualmente, si conoces algún otro caso puedes mencionarlo en los cometarios, me despido dejando por acá otra publicación de #ninetiesfriday.
