Black Clover/ Review

I don't even know how long ago it was, but I know I had a subscription to the famous streaming platform Netflix, so I watched a movie that left me full of doubts, as I didn't know the characters very well. The movie in question is Black Clover: The Sword of the Wizard King. At the time, I didn't think much of it, but a few days ago I saw that the anime Black Clover was recommended, so I decided to watch it.

This anime tells the story of a young man who was abandoned as a baby in front of a village church. Now, this village is part of a world where magic is everything, and it turns out that our protagonist, named Asta, has absolutely no magical powers, but even so, he has the goal of becoming the Wizard King.

Asta was raised alongside Yuno, who was abandoned at the church on the same day as him, but Yuno is a very talented young man who exudes magical power. However, this does not intimidate Asta; on the contrary, it encourages him to continue improving, growing, and becoming stronger in his own way. He always says that his magical power is “never giving up.”

In this magical world, all young people receive a grimoire when they turn 15. On the day that Yuno and Asta receive theirs, Yuno receives a four-leaf grimoire, like that of the first Wizard King, which impresses everyone, but Asta is the only one who does not receive a grimoire. Still, he leaves the place in high spirits. On the way back, someone tries to steal Yuno's grimoire. Asta comes to the defense of his friend and rival, but is humiliated and thrown to the ground by the thief, who emphasizes that he is no match for anyone, as he has no magical power.

In the midst of his helplessness, a dark grimoire appears, looking dark red, with a five-leaf clover choosing Asta. He pulls a sword from the grimoire and defeats the thief. From there, a series of adventures begin for Asta, who overcomes the obstacles that come his way one by one, precisely because he never gives up, and in turn inspires those around him to do the same.

Throughout its four seasons so far, this anime has evolved in terms of animation. In the first seasons, we see less refined drawings, but they still allow us to see the characters' personalities. However, the animation is refined as we progress through the seasons, and we can appreciate the growth of Asta and Yuno, since they were 15 years old when the anime began.

Black Clover takes us into a universe with a diversity of magic. We see that each character possesses a unique magic, and although there may be some who share the use of the same element, each one does so in their own way and at their own level. In other words, each character grows at their own pace, something that can also be seen, to a certain extent, in their grimoires, which are also unique.

Something I love about Black Clover is that it introduces us to a character who never stops believing in himself even when everything is against him, because he doesn't have something as valued in his world as magic. But since the protagonist never gives up, he shows us or reminds us of the importance of self-improvement, teamwork, and friendship, to name a few.

Something I value in an anime, unless we're talking about something super gory, is humor, and there's no shortage of that here, starting with the protagonist, who is loud and very silly at times, as well as other characters who do crazy things or are constantly funny because of their personalities.

If there's one thing that's present in Black Clover, it's epic battles. It's very rare to find an episode where we don't see one, or at least some training or a character's story. As the anime progresses, the battles grow, and this is undoubtedly one of the biggest attractions of this anime. Also, as expected, there are characters and enemies who are stronger than others, and seeing a character or enemy enter the scene makes you eager to learn more about their magic, how they use it, and how powerful they are.

As for the openings and endings, there is something for everyone, and the images are often surprising, giving us a preview of what we are about to witness, but just enough to leave you wondering.

In short, Black Clover, in its four seasons so far, since the anime was forced to stop because it caught up with the manga, is undoubtedly an anime that hooks us from beginning to end. It has been said that a fifth season is coming, but there is conflicting information, so if you don't read manga, you'll have to wait. So if you haven't seen this anime and you like fantasy anime full of magic and battles, Black Clover is for you.

Hace ya no sé ni cuánto, solo sé que tenía suscripción en la famosa plataforma streaming Netflix, por lo que vi una película que me dejó llena de dudas, pues no conocía bien a los personajes. La película en cuestión es Black Clover: La espada del rey mago, en ese momento, no le di mayor importancia, pero hace unos días vi que recomendaban el anime Black Clover, así que me decidí a verlo.

Este anime nos narra la historia de un joven que fue abandonado cuando era un bebe frente a la iglesia de un pueblo, ahora bien, este pueblo forma parte de un mundo en el que la magia lo es todo y resulta que nuestro protagonista de nombre Asta, no tiene absolutamente nada de poder mágico, pero aun así él tiene la meta de convertirse en Rey Mago.

Asta se ha criado junto a Yuno, quien fue abandonado en la iglesia el mismo día que él, pero este último es un joven muy talentoso que rebosa, poder mágico, pero esto no amedrenta a Asta, por el contrario, lo alienta a seguir mejorando creciendo y haciéndose más fuerte a su manera y siempre dice que su poder mágico es: “No rendirse nunca”

En este mundo mágico todos los jóvenes reciben un grimorio al cumplir 15 años, el día que le corresponde a Yuno y Asta, Yuno reciben grimorio de cuatro hojas, como el del primer rey mago, por lo que todos quedan impresionados, pero Asta es el único que no recibe un grimorio, pero igual sale del lugar animado, mientras regresaban alguien intenta robarle a Yuno su grimorio, Asta sale en defensa de su amigo y rival, pero es humillado y tirado al piso por el ladrón, quien le hace hincapié en que no es rival para nadie, pues no tiene nada de poder mágico.

En medio de su impotencia, aparece un grimorio oscuro que se ve como rojizo oscuro, con un trébol de cinco hojas eligiendo a Asta. Este saca del grimorio una espada y vence al ladrón. Desde allí comienzan una serie de aventuras para Asta, quien va venciendo uno a uno los obstáculos que se le presentan, precisamente por no rendirse nunca, y a su vez va inspirado a quienes lo rodean para hacer lo mismo.

Este anime, a lo largo de sus hasta ahora cuatro temporadas, va evolucionando en cuanto a animación vemos en las primeras temporadas dibujos menos refinados, pero igual nos permiten ver las carteristas de los personajes, pero la animación se va puliendo a media que avanzamos en las temporadas, además de apreciarse el crecimiento de Asta y Yuno, ya que hablamos de que tenían 15 años al comenzar el anime.

Black Clover, nos adentra en un universo con diversidad de la magia, vemos que cada personaje posee en una magia única y aunque puede haber algunos que compartan el manejo del mismo elemento, cada uno lo hace a su manera y nivel, es decir cada personaje crece a su ritmo, algo que también puede notarse, hasta cierto punto, en sus grimorios ,que también son únicos.

Algo que amo de Balck Clover es que nos presenta un personaje que nunca dejo de creer en sí mismo aun teniendo todo en su contra, por no contar con algo tan valorado en su mundo como lo es la magia, pero como el protagonista nunca se rinde, nos muestra o recuerda lo importante de la superación personal, el trabajo en equipo y la amistad, por solo mencionar algunos.

Algo que valoro yo en un anime, a menos que hablemos de algo super Gore, es el humor, aquí esto no falta comenzando por el protagonista que es un gritón y muy tonto a veces, además de que hay otros personajes que hacen muchas cosas disparatadas o aquellos que todo el tiempo son motivo de risas por su personalidad.

Si algo está presente en Black Clover, son batallas épicas, es muy raro algún capítulo donde no veamos alguna o al menos un entrenamiento o la historia de algún personaje, a medida que el anime avanza, van creciendo las batallas y sin duda es uno de los mayores atractivos de este anime, además como es de esperarse, hay personajes y enemigos más fuertes que otros y ver a un personaje o enemigo entrar en escena te pone a la expectativa porque se desea conocer más de su mágica, como la usa y que tan poderoso es.

En cuanto a sus openings y endings, los hay para todos los gustos y sus imágenes muchas veces son sorprendentes, dándonos un anticipo o de algo de lo que estamos por presenciar, pero lo suficiente como para dejarte con la duda.

En resumen, Black Clover en sus hasta ahora cuatro temporadas, ya que el anime se vio obligado a parar porque alcanzó al manga, es sin duda es un anime que nos engancha de principio a fin, se ha dicho que esta por llegar una quinta temporada, pero hay diversos tipo de información, por lo que si no lees manga te toca esperar, asi que si no has visto esta anime y te gustan los animes de fantasía llenos de magia y batallas, Black Clover es para ti.
