Ups and Downs(Mostly Downs)
It’s been quite a while since I last entered a casino, but I’ve got a couple of friends who go there occasionally. Today, I found myself wasting three hours of my life watching one of them play slots. I didn’t put a dime in those waste holes...
He played the entire time with passion, I’d say, and when we left, he wasn’t at a loss, but he wasn’t winning either. He pretty much walked out with the same money he brought in. His dopamine levels were most certainly through the roof...
Porn, gambling, hard-won achievements, cocaine, and some other activities or substances can spike your dopamine in a big way. By no means is dopamine bad—without healthy levels of it, you wouldn’t achieve shit worth achieving. But when you abuse it, it can drag you into a vortex of “bad passions” and unhealthy habits that are hard to recover from.
The casino wasn’t full, but there were plenty of people gambling. Nobody was there just to play games—everyone was there to win, to make money, to beat the house, so to speak. We all know that’s damn near impossible.
I could tell no one was there for fun based on their reactions to losing. Even though some showed signs of having deep pockets, they all seemed poor to me because they were all chasing quick cash.
Gambling is a poor man’s game because only the poor fantasize about making money fast and getting rich overnight. Those in the game of building fortunes and creating wealth know it takes time.
More often than not, you need to compound your gains to climb high peaks, but very few get that. It’s the same in crypto... I guess that’s why most of us roundtrip our gains or end up buying tops. Very few have a long-term mindset with their investments.
It’s easier to buy tops than bottoms and to keep dreaming of high returns on a small investment while your portfolio shows consistent growth but you do nothing about it.
Romania’s a poor country, if you ask me, but we’ve got thousands of sports betting shops and casinos across the land. That only makes the majority poorer while the owners get rich. The owners know the deal...
They aren’t getting rich overnight, but over years of running these joints, they make bank off the masses who won’t put in the hard work, energy, and dedication to get rich the right way instead of trying their luck with slots and sports bets.
We’re so easy to fool... The elites have us by the balls, and there’s no awakening for the masses anytime soon. Just my two cents... Have a great day, and I’ll catch up with you all next time.
Thanks for your attention,
Adrian
