Overstimulated and Undereducated

I remember reading a ton when I was a kid. My high school Romanian teacher was a good friend of my mom, and during my early school years, I’d show up at her house all the time begging for books. I guess I had some social anxiety because, for a while, I was enjoying the world of those books way more than the real one.

Things changed big time when I hit high school because booze makes everything more fun, and I can honestly say that with the start of high school, I gradually entered a phase where books were no longer part of the picture.

I was reading the stuff I needed for school to maintain my mediocre standing among my classmates, but that was it. Once I got my first PC, things got even worse. Watching movies almost daily, playing video games, and blasting music was way more fun than cracking open a book.

I didn’t even have internet access in high school, but imagine kids these days with all that media stimulation. I don’t know how things are going in your country, but here, I see a lot of young ones who are clearly overstimulated and undereducated.

There’s literally a stimulus for everything at every corner, and it’s all so damn cheap. Sweets, energy drinks, video games, porn, social media networks—you name it, kids have access to it. Artificial intelligence is gonna make things even worse. And it’s so damn accessible too...

You’ve got answers from some AI on every Google search, ChatGPT, which is famous as hell now, Meta AI baked into WhatsApp, and whatever else. I’ve got a friend with an eight-year-old daughter who’s using ChatGPT, and that’s not actually a bad thing if you don’t take the bot personally.

Some folks treat that thing like it’s human or something. It’s not. Artificial intelligence doesn’t have feelings and can’t mimic them. It’s just spitting out what it’s been trained to offer, plain and simple.
Crypto was supposed to change the world.

I still remember the good old days of the 2017-2018 cycle when we thought blockchain tech and crypto would be everywhere in a few years. In reality, it’s all about trading (as CZ said recently) or gambling, and that’s it. I see these so-called influencers hyping stablecoin adoption like crazy...

Well, they’re totally missing the point of stablecoins and the governments’ and central bankers’ perspectives. Stablecoins (except HBD and a few others) are a lot like CBDCs since they can be frozen by the parent company. That feature might help for a bit, like with stolen funds, but eventually, it’ll be used against us.

The plan for this bull market was to cash out as much profit as possible and store it in non-custodial wallets in USDC and USDT. Now the plan is to cash out any profits from this bull market (if there are any) and move them into HBD savings.

Overstimulated and undereducated. If the opposite were true, we’d have real financial classes in school, and they wouldn’t keep kids in school for 12 damn years teaching them random crap that’ll probably never help them in real life. Instead, the education system could push young ones to find their calling and master it.

The powers that be don’t want that. They want obedient workers. Employees smart enough to handle paperwork but overstimulated and undereducated enough to never question the status quo. That’s about it from my side. Wishing you all a great Friday, and I’ll catch up with you next time.

Thanks for your attention.
Adrian

Financial education should be mandatory in school from the early years.
