Bitcoin is Criminals Money, and That's a Good Thing...

Something like eight years ago, I dove into crypto. It was the summer of 2017 when I first heard about Bitcoin, and a few weeks later, I got to experience the power of blockchain firsthand. A friend schooled me on it and even gave me some crypto for free to test how fast blockchain tech was.

To this day, I still can’t recall the name of the blockchain we used for that test, but I remember it was something like $2 worth of coins he sent to my wallet to teach me how to use a blockchain and get a taste of crypto.

I’m eight years deep in this game and still poor . Anyone else in the same boat? Anyway, this post isn’t about financial freedom (though it kinda is) or crypto fortunes. It’s more about usability and real-world use cases.

A few days ago, I heard about some big-time drug dealer, a fugitive from France, I think, who got nabbed in Bucharest, Romania. He was labeled very dangerous—when he was arrested in France, some of his crew killed police officers transporting him to free him.

When he got caught in Romania, he offered the cop who nabbed him $1 million in Bitcoin to let him go. The offer was shot down, so he upped it to $2 million in Bitcoin, but the cop still said no. What a loser...

Anyway, we’re not debating right or wrong here. All I’m trying to underline is that criminals do use crypto (especially Bitcoin) as it was meant to be used: to bypass traditional financial systems. We were supposed to carve our own paths in this crooked system, but instead, we’re trading memes like gamblers, only caring about number go up.

I guess the system hasn’t fully grabbed us by the balls yet to make us truly grasp the significance of blockchain tech and crypto. All this current mass adoption we see for crypto? It’s not what we envisioned years ago.

When I got that tiny stash of crypto from my friend back in 2017, I was blown away that I could transfer funds from one wallet to another without any third-party meddling and that wallets didn’t need any ID tied to them. I hate banks. I’ve hated them ever since I sensed the direction we’re being pushed toward.

A cashless society, which is where we’re headed, means a serious loss of freedoms for us citizens. Many things we can now do privately—like buying groceries, fuel, or whatever with physical cash—will be tracked through digital cash once this utopia kicks in.

I know some will say we shouldn’t worry if we’re not criminals, but remember: just four years ago, people in Canada who refused the jab and protested the crooked system were labeled criminals and had their bank accounts frozen...

Bitcoin wasn’t meant to be criminals’ money, but it seems criminals know how to use it better than we do. Leveraging the network is way better than leverage trading it, imo. Just my two cents. Have a great day, and I’ll catch up with you all next time.

Thanks for your attention,
Adrian

"Loved the way you wrote this, man! If Bitcoin really is criminals’ money, then maybe it’s just doing exactly what it was meant to do, right?"
