The photo shows a large type of fungus growing on a tree. This fungus looks like a crescent or a light fan. Its middle part is dark brown and there is a white line on the edge, which makes it more attractive.
This type of fungus is usually called Bracket Fungus. They usually grow on dead or dying trees and gradually rot the tree further. However, they are not only harmful the tree, but are an important part of nature. Their job isbreak down dead organic matter and return soil, which provides nutrients for new plants to grow.
Fungi generally grow well moist shady humid environments. Tropical regions like Selangor receive rainfall for muchthe year and temperatures are also quite humid, which creates an ideal environment for fungi to grow. Therefore, this type of fungus can grow easily here.
As beautiful as this fungus look at, it also acts natural cleaner for the environment. However, everyone should keep one thing in mind not all fungi are suitable for eating. Many fungi can be poisonous, so one should definitely seek expert advice before touching or eating any fungus.
This photo shows us another aspect nature. Not only in the crowd city buildings and cars, but also in nature itself, there is beauty and mystery hidden. These small creatures and plants around us maintain the balance of our environment.
