What If You Date Someone Like You?

What’s relationship feeling like these days? I know I’m not the best. I’ve had failed relationships as well and this time, I’m trying my best to make my current relationship work even though I won’t take any rubbish or embarrassment from the relationship.

Just last week, I was talking to a female friend. She’s a new friend who has a baby and I’ve always wondered where the father of her child is. She mentioned that she was once married but no longer married.
She’s still young and mere looking at her, she’s still in her middle twenties and her kid isn’t even up to three years old so what could have shortened the lifespan of such relationship?
It’s really crazy.

Even if we don’t talk about short marriages, the relationship pool is a mess. It’s now very difficult for you to trust a so called partner. Sometimes, a lot of people talk about relationships in Lagos being a mess but it’s not only Lagos. The relationship pool in almost every part of the world is a mess.

Most things we see online are even fake. So many people portray themselves as the best partners in the world but inside the house, they beat themselves to stupor.
Then, in my school hostel, there was a young couple. They go out together, wear the same clothes, take themselves on dates and do every sweet thing that people in relationships do.

But guess what? The guy beats her almost every midnight. It has always happened and we all hear her voice but most times, we feel they were making love until she screamed out aloud in the midnight which made us know that the guy was hitting her.
Who would have thought such thing happens between them if you see them outside? No one!

These days, so many people cheat without conscience. Some even cheat to their partner’s faces but I pray that we all end up with someone like ourselves.
If you’re a cheat, I pray you end up with a cheat. If you’re loyal, I pray you end up with a loyal person too.

I wish everyone could just reshuffle. Yes! We should get someone like us. We should marry someone who takes relationships exactly how we do. How about that? Maybe that should happen so that when you cause people pain, you’ll feel pain too.
If you give people peace, you’ll surely find peace too.
