Stealth Mushrooms on the forest floor for Fungi Friday

Golf course Mushrooms

I'm sure there's a reason why mushrooms grow in little clumps together in certain places but I'm not sure why that is. Maybe one of the smart people reading this might be able to shed some light on it and let me know the reason behind it?

Below you'll see a couple of examples of photos of these clumps of mushrooms captured in the early morning Autumn air here in Ireland. I captured these ones out on the golf course during a recent round with some friends.

When I first glanced at it, I was unsure if it was a massive pile of shite or a clump of mushrooms! Alas it was the latter.

This is always the time of year that I start to contribute to Fungi Friday again, as the mushrooms start appearing here in Ireland again.

For first time readers who are wondering what Fungi Friday is, I'll say this, we've got Three Tune Tuesdays for the musically inclined. We have Beer Saturday for those who like a brew on Saturday night after a tough weeks work. Then there are Fridays, another favourite day of mine and Fridays mean Fungi Friday.

It's getting to the time of year when I'm seeing loads of mushrooms on the golf course and elsewhere, they seem to thrive at this time of year when it is damp and not too cold yet. If you're in Ireland or the UK, there should be loads of mushrooms dotted around the countryside. If you roam golf courses like these like I do, you may well come across some.

I've gotta say, I do class myself as lucky to play and love the game of golf. Not only is it fun to compete but you get to walk around beautiful green Parklands with lots of different flora and fauna sprinkled about for the senses to appreciate weekly.

As I say every week, there'll be a few of you who have no idea what Fungi Friday is, so let me set the scene for ye.

Fungi Friday

First things first, have a look on the #fungifriday community and scroll back to some of @ewkaw's Friday posts to hear all about it and get snapping the next time that you see mushrooms in the wild.

My golf course is great for mad looking mushrooms and it is in fact soon going to be that time of year when these guys start sprouting up around the golf course again and I always like sharing these photos as they're pretty cool if I may say so myself.

These photos are all my own taken on my Samsung smartphone

Thanks as always for stopping by everyone.

Peace Out

Ya I often find them when playing golf, but only ever photograph them when playing alone.

The little white guys are twig mushrooms, not sure of the Latin name of these ones. The pile mushroom might be berkeley's polypore, I would need to see what's underneath (gills or pores) to be sure.

You live in prime mushroom territory, I was over in that area a couple weeks ago an loads of golden oysters were growing everywhere.
