Here are my week one hundred and twelve recommendations for Three Tune Tuesday

** Drum roll please.....**

Preston Reed - Tractor Pull

Hello hello hello, my glorious and wonderful musical friends from around this lovely spinning blue and green sphere we call home. I hope that you are having an exquisite evening and maybe these tunes might add to the mood of your evening?

One thing is for sure, if you like guitar music or music in general for that matter, I believe that you will like and appreciate the musical genius of who I am about to introduce. This guy was the forefather of this particular style of guitar playing, where the guitar is used as a percussion instrument as well as a guitar.

His name is Preston Reed. He is a 68 year old man from Armonk, New York. Reed picked up a guitar early on, which is clear to see. I believe the first guitar he encountered was his father's one and he went on to study classical guitar for a short time. Reed moved to Scotland in 2000, which may be how my friend became acquainted with his work?

Ok then, without further ado, I give you Preston Reed and Tractor Pull.

Preston Reed - Funkin' At The Junction

Let's get straight into number two on tonight's musical menu shall we? Another 100% instrumental number called Funkin' At The Junction. Who needs lyrics when you can play the guitar like Preston?

Usman Riaz and Preston Reed on Ted Talk

While looking for a third song to share, I happened upon this really cool TED talk where a young musical prodigy by the name Usman Riaz joins Preston Reed on stage and the two virtuosos give us an absolute lesson in guitar wizardry. Honestly this has to be heard and seen to be believed, if you like the guitar, you will absolutely love this, I can promise you. It may be over 16 minutes long, with the first 11 minutes music only, but the time flies past, as you marvel at the two lads going hammer and things at the guitars.

Let me know what you think in the comments below. Have you ever seen somebody play the guitar like this before? I am lucky enough that I have, a friend of mine plays this style and it was he who introduced me to Preston Reed almost twenty years ago.

Three Tune Tuesday

That's right, it's Tuesday folks and for our merry little band of ladies and lads, that means sharing tunes, good vibes and engagement. As another week disappears in the rearview mirror, we have loads of engagement and tunes flying around on Three Tune Tuesday and sure isn't that bloody fantastic! I hope you're ready to share three tunes from wherever you find yourself on this magical spinning lump of rock that we all call home and sure you might even sing us a tune if we're lucky?

It's a time of the week when lovers of music, tunes and craic bring their blockchain community three of their finest and brightest tunes to share and celebrate, so let's roll on and let the tunes flow free.

This is my 112th week waxing lyrical for Three Tune Tuesday and we are still going strong.

It started off with me just sharing tunes into what seemed like a void, but little by little others joined and now I'm thrilled that we have a little corner of Hive where we come and share our tunes every Tuesday, and long may it continue. I almost stopped posting the songs and thoughts a few times, but I stuck with it and now interestingly it is my favorite thing about Hive. I love music and now I have a network of folks around the world who love music too and we share our tunes and catch up with each others tunes and discuss them each week. We get Pop, Metal, Rock, Gospel, Folk, Jazz, Rap, Hip-Hop, Trip-Hop, Reggae, Bippy bappidy Flange Hop. Ok I made that one up, but you get the idea, we are all learning about new artists, bands, back stories and sure isn't it just mighty!

Something that excites me the most is that we even get musicians sharing their covers of famous songs and even their own songs from time to time here on #ThreeTuneTuesday, which is a real favorite of mine, as that takes talent, time and dedication.

We are adding New posters and retaining our core of regulars here on #TTT which is fantastic. Let's keep it growing. Weekly, I try to find four to six hours to listen to all of the fantastic music shared from like-minded folk from around the globe and interact with their posts. This has led me to genres I don't know well and to some amazing new bands and artists and has even introduced me to some musical instruments I did not know existed. It also allows me to upvote smaller accounts and find some really interesting people from all over the world, which is heartening.

I hope you enjoy the tunes - be sure to tell me all about it in the comments below and above all else, please enjoy the rest of your Tuesday - smile at a stranger, rub a dog, be a nice human to someone who was not expecting it - peace out.

For those unfamiliar with TTT or Three Tune Tuesday....

The jist is as follows

Every Tuesday I'm going to share 3 songs which I like to listen to and I invite your feedback in the comments below. Better still, why not have a blast of your own Three Tune Tuesday and mention me in the post and I'll come and find the post and upvote it. If you could also use #threetunetuesday tag that would be great, as that is what I use when sifting through all the entries every Wednesday. It'll be a sweet way for us all to discover new music. You'll also be in with a chance of winning the prize - more on that later.

WOW, I am blasted away by the talent. And feel so inadequate with my own playing. Compared to these two I would not even call it playing but simply plucking strings and hoping to get a recognizable tune. 😊

Thank you very much for sharing this.

That's some awesome stuff! I saw a guy a while ago named Billy McLaughlin. He has a whole album and show called Fingerdance that does this style of guitar playing. That is probably the first time I had ever seen it. It was fascinating though. I wonder if he got his inspiration from this guy.

Wow, I just listened to some of Billy's stuff there, very talented, tough break too with the focal dystonia, which was the genesis of his style of playing it appears.

Ya man, this is good. Nothing like the acoustic guitar, especially playing like Preston does. Can't believe I have never heard of him. Great tunes, and the kid stepping into his shoes will definitely fill his Preston's shoes when the time comes. My one regret in life has been not learning to play the guitar....
