Darts at the house

Ok so has he beaten me or has he not??

Well, recently I've taken to handicapping our games to make them more competitive and give the boys a decent chance of beating me.

That means for my nine year old son, he gets to stand around four feet from the board instead of the standard distance of 7 feet 9.25 inches which is where the oche should be.

The game that we usually play is cricket

The concept is you need to get 3x15, 3x16, 3x17, 3x18, 3x19, 3x20 and 3xBull. The bulls are always the trickiest, so they are always a good one to aim for first.

As you can see the cabinet even has it setup to score cricket.

Oh yes, another couple of things, to incentivise them, I offer €10 prize money if they beat me and to make it even more competitive, I handicapped it a little bit, whereby I need five of every number and bullseye and they need only three.

The hardest by far to get is the bullseye, with green outer counting for one, and inner red bull two.

I had my five bulls, and he was on one, so I thought I had it in the bag to be honest!

I had lots of numbers to get and he just had two bulls, one 19 and one 20 to get.

That's when he hit one of his only ever inner bulls with a beautiful dart!!

Game on all of a sudden.

I had some good visits and he blanked.

I needed two 15s and two 16s to win.

He needed one 19 and one 20 and boom......

He got them!

Truth be tokd, I was delighted for him, even though it cost me a tenner.

He is getting much better at throwing darts now, and I'll have to move his oche back to five feet or he'll clean me out!

Thanks as always for stopping by everyone

Peace Out

I have a dartboard at home that I would love to put back up somewhere, but I really don't have the space. Cricket is always fun to play!
