Delicious homemade banana bread
Some Home Cooking
Wwll maybe not home cooking, but home baking. I really like banana bread and I like to make mine with a bit of a twist by adding walnuts, raisins and almond extract. Read on and I'll tell you all about it.
@Ablaze's Banana Bread
- 3 old bananas mashed
- 210g All purpose flour
- 1 tsp Baking Powder
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 3/4 tsp Ground Cinnamon
- 1 tsp Almond Extract
- handful of Walnuts
- handful of raisins
- 100g butter
- 2 large eggs
- 150g castor sugar
Here are a few of bits I used:
And here is some of the mess I left behind aferwards!
Step 1
Refer to the ingredients list and take the required amount of flour, baking powder, cinnamon and salt and add them to a large bowl and sieve together.
Step 2
Now grab your three ripe (brown) bananas, your two large eggs, your buuter, your castor sugar, your almond extract, your walnuts and your raisins and mash and mix them all together as best you can in another bigger bowl.
Step 3
Slowly mix your flour/salt/baking powder/cinnamon mix into the bigger bowl, adding a small amount at a time and mixing it up as best you can.
I like to cut a banana in two and place it on top too, which gives it a nice finish and tastes nice too!
Step 4
Take a little bit of butter and grease your cake tin. transfer your cake mix into the tin.
Step 5
pre heat your oven to 160 degrees and bake for 70 minutes. I actaully had 6 brown bananas that I didn't want to throw out, so made two banana breads.
Bon appetite!!
You're done! Now it's time to enjoy your wears once they have cooled down enough. I would recommend enjoying a slice with a nice big strong cup of tea.
😋 Looks yummy and making me hungry! I like that you put the bananas in whole.. 👍
Hey thanks... Mushed up three in the bread and topped with one cut in half for the top 👌
Ah, I see! Great idea! 👍😃
While it looks great, I am personally not a fan of bananas in general.
!BEER
To be honest I reckon even if you don't like bananas, you would still like it. The bananas are not over powering
Ohhhh I can almost smell it! :p
Best way to use up overmature bananas (besides baked porridge which is my recent discovery)
Ha ha, it's the only reason I ever make it,when bananas get too brown to eat!!
I hate to bin food and seldom allow it to happen.
Thanks a million for stopping by and supporting as always
Thanks 🙏
It looks really delicious and juicy🤪
Thanks. It was very tasty and didn't last long with our son's!! 😊
Is there no end to your talents?
🤣🤣🤣 twas mighty tasty if I may say so myself!
It looks delicious, but I can't do banana flavored stuff. There is just something about it that turns me off. I can eat a plain banana just fine, but banana flavored stuff turns my stomach. I'm a weirdo!
Ha ha, ya big weirdo!! 🤣🤣

My mixer is damaged so this recipe is perfect for me, one that we don't need to knead hard, apart from that it's a special bread, I imagine it's more like a dessert bread, I'll have to try it :) thanks for sharing it, regards
Oh ya Definitely a dessert bread
