A new negative repercussion if I don't make a mistake. So yeah, my mother was extremely hard, but in terms of discipline. So I had a very good balance. My dad was a liberal one. My mom was the, you know, the woman, they can be extremely tough. So I was raised in a home where I was loved and appreciated. I was allowed to bloom and blossom.
I would, I would. I'm a typical example of, you know, allowing, ye. I would say that as a young girl, I was termed stubborn. You know, I was, I was having a conversation with my mom sometime in November last year, and she was saying, oh, Claire, you were so stubborn that ,but but your stubbornness helped you to become the woman that you are today.
So, a lot of times, you find that young girls are silenced generally. Not necessarily because they don't have what to say, but mostly because culture and beliefs in this part of the world tell us that girls are supposed to be seen and not heard, and where a girl becomes quite vocal about the issues that affect her. About the things that she wants, she is termed A stubborn child, she is termed an outcast, she's just a threat, she's just A, and so families have carried on this culture for so long.
SourceI was more or less like an exception because even in my home, I was the most vocal. I would challenge authority, I would challenge my parents when I felt that things were not being done right.
