Climate Change, A Big Blow To Mankind

Climate change is something that most of us have been experiencing for a very long time. Most areas are prone to flooding. People living in such areas always have the feeling of fear of any upcoming flood. They tend to prepare beforehand, and every so often, they know when the season of the flood is always coming.

I experienced it when I went home to visit my mom. It was so serious and intense. The whole road was filled with water. It was just as if the major road were a river. Vehicles have a limit on where they can drive. The government had to provide boats to affected areas just to make sure those inside the town were safe. I entered the boat just to see my mom. This happened far back in 2017, if I'm not mistaken. The villagers' farmlands were overtaken by flood, and this made hunger become something else in my community and the communities around it. It caused serious hunger and famine in the surrounding communities.

Most of the communities close to our town had to run to ours, as we are somehow upland, apart from the road to the town. Although most houses on the outskirts of the town were overtaken by floods. They were halfway through when the water swallowed the other parts. After staying for some time, I decided to travel back, and I did not take my usual cassava flakes home.
What I observed, apart from the fact that there was serious famine, was that unwanted animals, both crippled and the like, were flooded into my community, causing fear among the community members. Although they left with the flood.

In the place I live in, climate change has been so safe except for the heat. We always feel the heat during the dry season. I do feel for my kids, as the power holding is just too wicked of late. They don't bring electricity frequently.

I just know that climate change can affect so many things, such as crops. Although during the rainy season, I do enjoy it a lot. The cold is a war far better than the heat.

The next year, my community and the communities around it, as well as the government, were expecting the flood. The government has made necessary arrangements, while the communities have always planned. Most of them have started uprooting their plant, even at a stage of not reaching their majority potential. They had to do so just to beat the flood.

They began to expect it, but the more they expected it, the more the season kept moving forward without flooding. So, that year, there was no flood. Even the next year after that year, there was no flood up to this moment.

Climate change can cause different things to happen. So, with this fact above, you can see that climate change has hit me a lot. It has destroyed my parents' plans as well as mine. Their farmlands were overtaken by flood, and this alone is a blow on my part. I'm just so excited that they have not experienced it again, and I pray it remains as it is.
