The deep darkness of the night has spread around. A few stars are twinkling in the sky, but a thick silence has descended around. In this silence, a lizard is silently clinging to the old reddish brick wall outside the house. At this very moment, I was walking past. Seeing him, I handed him my mobile phone. I looked at him. I turned on the mobile phone's camera and walked towards him to take a photo. His body is motionless, as if he is still as a stone. Yet his eyes are keenly observing his surroundings. The thin nails of his fingers are tightly grasped on the rough surface of the brick, so that there is no movement and his presence blends into the darkness unnoticed. The lizard's only thought is when some unwanted insect will come near him, attracted by the light or the wind. In the darkness, small flying insects occasionally flap their wings, their soft sounds are only caught by the lizard's ears. He waits patiently. At every moment, the stars in his eyes flash like a sharp hunter. Time seems to have stopped, but the lizard's patience is unwavering. The hunger in his stomach is growing, yet he knows that if he rushes, he will miss his prey. So he sits silently and observes every small movement in his environment. If a light rustle is heard in the air, or any small movement is seen, he will immediately extend his tongue. The prey will come to his mouth in a fraction of a second. And thus he remained there silently. Seeing him, the thought of taking photographs also awakened in my mind, and I also took his photo. Only this made me realize that to get something, one must wait.
