The Gap Between Planning & Achieving

The year 2025 is almost over, and as the final days of the year approach, there's a mix of joy and a touch of regret for the things we planned to achieve at the beginning of 2025 but couldn't. Everyone starts the year with renewed energy and a fresh approach to their work. They try to accomplish the goals they set at the beginning of the year completely and effectively. Everyone wants to achieve all their goals, but this doesn't happen for everyone. It works in such a way that you need 100% dedication to fully achieve your goals. We also need a lot of discipline to achieve our goals because it's discipline that guides a person towards their objectives. For example, if your goal is to achieve good health and maintain a fit body, you'll need to join a fitness center or gym. But simply doing that won't be enough; you'll have to work at it every day. You'll have to wake up early every day, activate your body, perform the necessary exercises daily, and follow a regular diet chart. You'll have to do all of this throughout the year to achieve your goal. That's why dedication and discipline are so important.

People who fail to achieve their goals often lack dedication and discipline. The same thing happens to me. At the beginning of the year, I set goals to achieve many things and started working on them, but sometimes distractions arise, and with them, a lack of discipline, which breaks the momentum. At the beginning of the year, things go quite well for a few days, and there's a good flow, but then suddenly, a roadblock appears that completely disrupts that flow. To regain that lost momentum, you have to go back to where you started because you have to begin certain things all over again, and that seems to be the most difficult part. A person's life is full of unexpected events that often put them in difficult situations. Sometimes, we face health problems that we didn't anticipate, and because of this, we fall behind on our goals. These ups and downs are a part of life, and we often get sidetracked from our goals.

Just like many people set goals for the new year, I also set some goals. However, I was only able to work on them for a short time, and then things started to change. Life is full of changes, and something unexpected happened that prevented me from focusing on my goals. This situation persisted in my life for a considerable time, causing my attention to be completely diverted to these other things, and I couldn't find any time at all to work on my goals.

With the limited time I have left, I don't think I'll be able to achieve my goal, and it seems almost impossible. I've seen this happen many times before: I set goals in my life and try my best to achieve them, but sometimes unexpected things happen that I can't control. Our lives aren't entirely within our control; sometimes things happen that we never anticipated, and they completely change our plans.

It's beyond our control to manage unexpected events. You've probably experienced this yourself: you have an exam, you need to travel to another city, you've booked your flight, and everything seems to be going smoothly. You arrive at the airport on time, but just before your flight is scheduled to depart, an announcement is made that the flight has been canceled. What would your reaction be in this situation, especially since your exam is the next day and your flight has been canceled today? Similar unexpected things happen in life that are completely beyond our control. While we should always try our best to work towards our goals, there's nothing we can do when such unexpected events occur.

Many people experience disappointment due to these kinds of unexpected events, and naturally, if something you hoped for doesn't happen, you're bound to feel disappointed. This often occurs when people have overly high expectations, and then something unexpected happens. However, since these things are beyond anyone's control, it's best to keep expectations to a minimum and focus on putting in your best effort.
