Some time ago, I was watching a video where some qualities of a successful person were being discussed, and one of them was that a successful person should possess the art of listening. I found this to be quite true, and I completely agree that having the ability to listen is very important. Just think about it: if you have someone in your life who listens to you attentively and understands everything you say, then you are quite fortunate. I say this because the art of listening is not something everyone possesses. Someone might be listening to you, but you have no idea to what extent they are actually understanding you. Think about how many people you talk to every day and how many things people say to you. In this situation, many people simply pretend to listen and don't actually hear anything. Some people ignore what you're saying and start talking about something else that interests them. There are many types of people like this, but the person who truly understands what you're saying and responds thoughtfully is very important to you. Nowadays, everyone wants to talk about something, even if it doesn't make any sense, but they just want to talk. Most people just want to talk and don't want to listen, and that's the biggest problem. If someone wants to talk to you and wants to discuss an important topic related to their life, it's very significant because they must have thought about it before bringing it up with you. If you simply listen without understanding, that person will feel that you are ignoring them. Listening isn't just about hearing the words; it's also about understanding and giving a proper response. Many people come and go around us every day, and wherever you work, or go to school or college, there are many people you interact with. However, you can't talk to everyone about everything that's important in your life, and you can't share everything with just anyone.

If you listen attentively to someone and offer sound advice, it shows that the person can trust you, and this makes you a trustworthy individual. Once someone trusts you, they will start sharing everything with you and may even confide in you about their life's problems, which is incredibly valuable.

Try to imagine this situation: you want to share something personal with someone, but that person is only listening and not responding. A response means giving feedback that shows they understand what you're saying, confirming that they're truly grasping your message. Understanding is crucial because the person sharing their thoughts with you likely trusts you deeply, and maintaining that trust requires that we listen and understand what they're saying.

Sometimes in life, we encounter people who say things that seem quite strange and you might wonder what on earth they're talking about. However, there's often a logic behind their words that isn't immediately obvious to everyone, and to understand it, you have to delve deeper into the meaning of what they're saying. You might meet elderly people whose conversations you don't initially understand, but if you listen carefully and try to comprehend their perspective, you might eventually grasp their meaning. Engaging in conversation with them can also be beneficial for them, as older people often lack opportunities to talk to others, especially when family members aren't around to provide companionship.
You may speak less, but if you treat people well and offer your opinions thoughtfully during conversations, you will gain their trust. In today's world, earning someone's trust is a very valuable thing, because building trust is incredibly difficult these days.
