Financial Literacy Should be Taught From Young Age.

We keep reading gradually about the things that will be useful in our life. Like when we go to school, first of all we read those things with which we start speaking or those words with the help of which we can make our sentences, then gradually the studies related to our future goals start and similarly we have to do many types of studies, only then we are able to get the right information about things in our life. Studying is very important and it is very important for us to know about the things that will be useful in our future because if we do not get information about those things, then later we can have many problems. Now as the topic is, we have to tell about financial literacy. Financial literacy is here that you should know how to spend money and how to manage it. If I talk about my personal experience, when did I get to know about financial literacy, when I used to work in a company and it had been more than 6 months for me there. Initially when I got a new job, I was very happy that I would be able to fulfill my desires and finally the time had come when we could bear our own expenses and we could fulfill all those desires as we had been seeing since childhood. Like going to a hotel and eating whatever food we wanted and wearing clothes of our choice and buying a mobile phone of our choice. Well, sorrows never end with desires and if seen, they are very much but to fulfill these desires, more money is needed.

When I had been working for about 6 months, one day I suddenly thought that this is a private job and if I lose my job for some reason or have to pursue further studies, then how will I manage my expenses in the end. In the first 6 months, I was spending a lot and was not keeping much money in savings, but suddenly I thought that I should have at least enough money that if I do not get a job for 6 months, I should have enough savings so that I can survive for 6 months and 6 months are enough to get a new job and learn skills. I was thinking like this because I used to live in some other city and there the expenses were very high because it was a metropolis, so the expenses of room rent and transport etc. were very high there. If we talk about desires, then they will always keep increasing. If today a person wishes to buy a motorcycle, then tomorrow when he fulfills his wish, he will wish to buy a more expensive motorcycle or a car. Similarly, many other kinds of desires will keep arising in us. We should spend money only on those things which are our basic needs. Only if you are very rich, you can afford those expenses which are unnecessary.

According to me, financial literacy should be taught from school time itself. As soon as a child passes the 10th class examination, financial literacy should also be taught in the higher classes. I feel this is because this is the right age at which we can guide children properly about those things which are very important for their future. People nowadays do many expensive courses for financial literacy and read many books which give them knowledge about this thing. Although doing all these things has its own benefits, but a basic financial literacy should be taught from school itself so that children can get the right information and do not take any wrong decision related to finance in the future.
