Can We Control History From Repeating Itself

It would not be wrong to say that history repeats itself because we have seen many such things which happened a long time ago in history and happened again in the future. As you might remember or you might have read somewhere that in 1918, a pandemic named Spanish Flu spread and if we look at an estimate, 50 to 100 million people died. This pandemic lasted for about 2 years which lasted from February 1918 to April 1920 and this pandemic had affected almost every country. This was history but a few years ago in 2019, Covid-19 again spread its tragedy all over the world as a pandemic. Don't know how many people lost their lives in it and a very horrific scene was seen. No person would want this to be repeated again.

Now I tell you about one such historical inventory because it was the world's most dangerous industrial disaster. You must have heard about the Bhopal Gas Tragedy and for those who don't know, let me tell them that on the night of 3 December 1984, an incident took place in Bhopal, India. There was a factory named Union Carbide Corporation in Bhopal city which used to make chemicals. The most dangerous thing in this plant was a gas named methyl isocyanate. It is a very poisonous gas. Due to some negligence, this gas leaked from the plant and spread throughout the city. By the time people came to know about this, it was too late and about 15 to 20000 people died in this accident and lakhs of people were affected by this gas because it is a very poisonous gas and it harms the future generations. About 45 tonnes of ethyl isocyanate was leaked which is a very large quantity. Even many years after the gas leakage, children were born, many of them had some or the other health tips and all the areas around the place where the accident happened were devastated in a way.

This mistake happened due to a small negligence and thousands of innocent people had to pay the price of this negligence and many innocent people who were not even born were affected by it. This happened completely due to a human error and when such a poisonous gas is in a plant, it is very important to take responsibility for its safety because everyone knows its ill effects in advance and even a small mistake can cause huge damage. Safety measures have to be followed completely and preparations for the accident have to be done in advance that if some accident happens then how will it be controlled. When more research was done about Bhopal gas, it was found that no such planning was done for it so that if gas leaks here in future then how will it be controlled because there is such a thing which can control the gas leakage but there was no such system there and it is said that due to lack of proper maintenance and cutting from the cast, this accident happened.

Such incidents have happened in many other places but the tragedy that happened here was quite horrific and we should learn from such tragedy. The first thing is that if there are such poisonous things which can cause an accident, they should be kept with proper safety and should be thoroughly checked from time to time to see if there is any problem. The team which is controlling such things should have full experience of this thing and they should have the skill to control it completely. Generally, such things should be kept somewhere far away, at a radius of several kilometers from the city so that there is no harm to the common people. Along with this, it is also very important to keep backup because if any accident happens, then there should be complete preparation for how to control it and how to manage the thing.
Some people play with safety in the name of cost cutting, which is absolutely wrong and whatever authority controls these things, if they see even the slightest negligence anywhere, then such institutions should be closed immediately so that other people can also learn a lesson.
