Blue Light Effect On Sleep & Health

We do not open our eyes in the morning and before that the light of the blue screen of the mobile phone starts appearing in front of us. Then after that our whole day is spent in front of the computer or in front of the mobile phone. At night, until we fall asleep, our eyes are in front of the blue light. Many people go to sleep but the screen of their mobile phone does not turn off and until their screen is turned off, even after sleeping, they are in front of the blue light. Blue light is a special type of energy that comes out from the digital screen. Although this blue light is also present in sunlight, but that light has its own different work and that work is that the light coming out of the screen helps our body to stay awake and alert. But if we use the light coming out of the digital screen more at night, then it is very harmful for our eyes and can also disturb our sleep.

Now here let's talk a little about scientific things and the first topic we will talk about is melatonin.

There is a natural hormone that is released in our body and tells our eyes that it is time to sleep. When we are exposed to blue light for a long time, the blue light reduces the amount of this hormone in our body and if the amount of the hormone is less, then our eyes will not be able to understand that it is time to sleep and the eyes need to rest. This will result in your body being tired but your eyes will not be able to balance with your body and this will result in you not being able to sleep properly. Eyes play a very important role in sleeping. You must have noticed that the day you are in front of the screen for a long time, you are not able to sleep properly and the next day you do not feel as fresh.

The second thing is that there is a clock inside our body which signals our body that it is time to sleep and if our body has reduced its capacity then we start feeling tired and a signal is sent to the body that we should rest for a while. This clock is called circadian rhythm. Blue light can confuse this rhythm and because of this our body is unable to receive the signal.

It is very important for us to take proper sleep of at least 7 to 8 hours every day because only when we take proper sleep, our body will be able to prepare itself for the next day and will be able to rest properly, but if we do not sleep well, then our body will be tired the next day and you may feel a little irritable or you may have some digestive problem or any other physical problem.

Now, in today's time, it is not possible that we can always turn off the blue light because this is a digital age and nothing can be done without it, but we can make some changes in our style.

The first change we can make is that we should stay in front of the digital screen only as much as we need and we should give rest to our eyes every now and then.

The second thing is that we can either apply a blue light filter on our digital screen or we can wear blue lens glasses so that the harmful blue light does not reach our eyes. In today's time, many people do this and it is not very expensive either.

The third thing here can be that whenever it is time for you to sleep, about 1 hour before that, you should turn off all the screens around you and along with the screen, you should also dim the lights of your house because the light used in them nowadays is also not good for the eyes or you can use a warm light bulb which gives relief to the eyes.

Sleep is very important for our life and it is a gift of nature which we should not spoil. When we sleep, our whole body recovers. Just like if a computer is not working properly, we reboot it, similarly sleep reboots our whole body and this reboot is very important for our body, only then our body parts will be able to support us for a long time and there will be no problem. In today's young generation, many people are getting many diseases at a very young age, the main reason for this is that their sleep is not proper and the body does not understand how to recover itself because those people are busy in front of the screen till night and if seen, they do not even get two-three hours of sleep, in such a situation their body is not in good condition.
