Warrior Nun: The Battle Against Evil
Imagine living all your life paralyzed and then suddenly waking up in the morgue one night with superpowers after about three hours of being dead. So confusing yet interesting, right? Yeah, that’s how Warrior Nun is.
It took a lot for me to watch Warrior Nun because of how easy it is for me to dream about things I see. And with all the angelic and monster or demonic effects in this movie, I just really wanted to stay far away. But it appeared anytime I opened Netflix, and my friend couldn’t stop talking about it, so I just gave in.
Warrior Nun is a 2020-2022 series about a young woman named Ava who died and woke up in a morgue and found out she possessed powers that made her stronger and could allow her to do anything she wanted. She grew up in an orphanage after she and her mom had a car accident leading to her mom’s death. And that was how she became paralyzed. So for most of her life, she was unable to walk or do anything until she died, and something happened in the morgue, which caused her to come back to life.
When Ava came back to life, she was surprised she could walk and even fly if she wanted to. She could literally do anything, but then she found out whatever brought her back to life had a greater purpose for her: to hunt demons. So she had to live with nuns and prepare.
Let me just get into it that I loved the cinematography and all the editing in this movie. No, I’m not a fan of watching monsters and demons do their thing, but I just was impressed by how they edited them in the scenes as and when they had to. The angles for the fights were also awesome. You know how some movies will have you playing back just to see how a particular thing was even possible? This was very different, and all the moves in the fights were visible.
I also loved the characters. Ava and the nuns just killed their roles. I really like how Ava was very annoying after she came to know how much power she wielded. I love how she wasn’t even listening to nuns again, which was so great to watch. After all, she was playing as a teen, and teenagers are annoying.
The plot twist was also very unexpected. I was so shocked when I found out that all that while, the person who was portrayed as the bad man wasn’t even close to bad. And the angelic one rather than “badder than bad.” Anyway, the unexpected turns were really unexpected and threw me off.
The one thing I didn’t understand was the script. I believe Ava was a teenager, and some conversations that she had and easily understood made no sense. Especially because she wasn’t even a nun in her previous life and had no idea what the powers she possessed were.
Oh, and another thing is how I feel like the storyline was too stretched and some scenes were unnecessary. Even after making their point in two scenes, they just kept going in different scenes, and then I kept on wondering why they were going about the same things so many times.
The movie was lovely, and it had a lot of lessons. I believe the greatest lesson I learned was how important it is to know what you carry as a person. If Ava knew how powerful she was, a lot of things wouldn’t have happened. I’ll give this movie an 8/10.
I liked this movie
Don't know why they stopped it
They said it wasn’t giving enough money as they expected or something like that but I heard Netflix will bring it back in a different form.
They better 😭
Thank you for the support
Why are we both watching supernatural Nun movies with similar plot twists and reviewing them at the same time?? 😂
Special connection I guess🤣
Indeed 😊
I watched this series back on campus. Instead of me to work on my project work I was binging this show. It’s really an interesting one.
Congratulations ma’am😂😂
Thank you😂
