Content Creation on Hive
It’s no secret that Web3 is different and even better than Web2, but the one thing they both have in common is content creation. Both platforms allow you to create content and share your thoughts and ideas. And I know people will say one appreciates those raw thoughts while the other has a battalion of people waiting to criticize everything you share. I know, I know, but for now let’s just focus on what they have in common.
Over time, I’ve realized that people don’t struggle to post content on Web2, but the moment they come to Hive, you often hear, “I don’t know what to post.” I’m sure everyone has said this once at least because they genuinely didn’t know what to post.
And the fact that it’s registered in newbies’ minds that everything has to be 500 words or more makes it worse. That’s even a story for another day. We see people do so well on Web2 but come here and just start plagiarizing or using AI because they believe they can’t write or don’t have some Shakespeare style to show. Or whatever they have to say is not enough for the blockchain.
For the latter, I completely understand because, as I said some days ago, I also went through that phase where I overthought each and every post of mine. Is this good enough? Is this hivey enough? Will the blockchain appreciate my thoughts?
I don’t know about you, but I have been there, and the little I can tell you is that on Hive, everyone’s thoughts really matter. And trust me, no matter what you think, you’ll find people here who can relate to and respect those thoughts, which is also another beautiful thing about Hive.
The whole point of this post is just to remind newbies that this place is just like Web 2 in terms of content creation. Is it videos that you are used to publishing over there? You can equally do the same here. Are you used to creating GIFs? You can do the same here.
If you go to my blog, you’ll realize that I sometimes post vlogs of my day, my favorite food, and sometimes even trips. It’s basically whatever I do as Abenad. I don’t try to be somebody else just to create content here or fit in the Hive ecosystem. No, that’s not authenticity.
What I’ve realized on this blockchain over time is how our authentic experiences, our thoughts, and our ideas are appreciated. You don’t have to be superficial on Hive. You don’t have to look for philosophies and huge vocabularies before creating content over here. As I said, most people just want to know the real you, not someone hiding behind an Oxford dictionary.
You don’t know what to post? Just like how you’d say on WhatsApp status that you had a bad day, tell us here how it all happened. You experienced betrayal? Tell us. You just got promoted? Tell us. You have unpopular opinions? Let us in on all of it. These are things you can share on this platform, and that’s literally you creating content for people to feast their eyes on.

Thank you for the support
You're welcome.
The close knitted interactive sessions on the Blockchain are quite golden. Knowing that someone actually read you word for word is what makes the difference between web2 and 3 for me. This is such an insightful write up 💖🤗
Yeah, I know right.
Thank you.
This was actually very helpful. Honestly, i think i was and still face some of these problems sometimes on the blockchain. But i guess i can definitely work past them with time.
I’m glad it was helpful.
