Another Kitchen Catastrophe

I don’t even know who sent me this afternoon but I just felt like frying potatoes. Did I hear someone say chef Abenad? Please hold on o and let’s see if you are still going to call me that at the end of the post.
I had the potatoes and every other thing I needed so I didn’t even think twice before moving straight to the kitchen. The thing is, I’m so used to frying yam that I totally forgot that potatoes were entirely different from yam. From the moment I thought about frying potatoes, my mind automatically processed yam.

I peeled the potatoes, washed it and then there was this tiny voice in my head that kept telling me to boil the potatoes first. Actually, this is not the first time I’m doing something like this but this time, instead of boiling the potatoes, I rather boiled hot water and poured it on the potatoes- first mistake.

The funny part about all of this is that I totally forgot about them in the water for hours and attended to my businesses for the rest of the day. The only time I remembered I was going to fry potatoes was when I came back home and then entered the kitchen to drink water.

I hurriedly poured the water from the potatoes and began frying them. Initially, I tried using the air fryer to make it easier and by the 14th minute, the smoke detector was making so much noise. I turned it off and then just focused on using the stove to fry it.

At this point, I wasn’t even interested in frying the potatoes again. Reluctantly, I poured them in the hot oil and for about 15 minutes, the potatoes weren’t frying. I mean they were frying but they didn’t taste cooked. I didn’t understand what was going on until I asked my mom about it and she said you don’t treat potatoes like yam. That means I shouldn’t have left it in the warm water for that long.

She told me to put the rest in the freezer for it become a little harder before continuing to fry it. And that’s when it actually worked.
Looking back, I think it’s safe to say the potatoes fried me, I didn’t fry them because I’ve never sweat like that in my life.

During this period, the most annoying part was the smoke detector. It kept making so much noise that my neighbor called me all the way from his house to ask if everything was okay. I had to quickly cook what I am good at and that’s what you guys are seeing up there.
You guys aren’t seeing any pictures of the potato because I don’t want @bipolar95 to get me today.
