The topic I'm bringing up today to answer this week's prompt is somewhere between tragic and comical, but it was very real.

I happened to be at the Orlando coffee shop that day, chatting with a friend and reading some of his writing.

For those who don't remember, the Orlando coffee shop has been around for about five months on an open-air patio, and therefore, they're quite close together.

Orlando almost always has music playing, which serves as a backdrop for all conversations. This gives us a level of privacy that's quite difficult to explain.
It turns out that if you don't raise your voice, people at nearby tables won't hear anything you're talking to. Or at least, nothing intelligible.
And all because there's an ambient sound caused by the music, which acts as a curtain or sound barrier.

The coffee, of course, is delicious. So we go back for it again and again, almost every day.
That day was no different. We were reading when suddenly the music stopped. Either because it lost its Bluetooth connection with the phone, or for some other reason I don't know. The point is that the music suddenly stopped, and suddenly this phrase was heard loudly, coming from the table across the patio:
“I told you not to hit me so hard, mimi, that could leave marks”

In the absolute silence that fell at the moment the music stopped, that phrase was heard very clearly. So we had to make a great effort not to laugh at the many hypotheses we had about what could have prompted that complaint.

But the one whose mood changed the most was my friend, who was reading his texts in a very solemn and serious manner, and suddenly his face became so funny that he had to run up to avoid bursting out laughing in front of the couple.

Hola, amantes del café alrededor del mundo.
El tema que traigo hoy para responder al prompt de esta semana, está entre lo trágico y lo cómico, pero fue muy real.

Sucede que me encontraba aquel día, conversando con un amigo y leyendo algunos de sus textos en la cafetería de Orlando.
Para el que no recuerde, la cafetería Orlando está compuesta por alrededor de 5 meses en un patio al aire libre y por tanto, bastante cercanas unas de otras.

Casi siempre Orlando tiene puesto música, que funciona como telón de fondo para todas las conversaciones. Por lo que nos ofrece una privacidad bastante difícil de explicar.
Resulta que si no levantas la voz, las personas que se encuentran en mesas aledañas no escucharán nada de tu conversación. O, por lo menos, nada que sea entendible.
Y todo porque hay un sonido ambiente causado por la música, que funciona como cortina o parabán sonoro.

El café, por supuesto, que es delicioso. Por tanto, repetimos una y otra vez, casi a diario.
Aquel día no fue diferente. Nos encontrábamos leyendo, cuando de pronto la música cesó. Ya sea porque perdió la conexión de bluetooth co el teléfono, o por algún otro motivo que desconozco. El punto es que la música paró de golpe y de pronto se escuchó bien alto esta frase, proveniente de la mesa al otro lado del patio:
“Te he dicho que no me des tan duro, mimi, que eso puede dejarme marcas”

En el silencio absoluto que se hizo en aquel momento en que se detiene la música, aquella frase se escuchó con gran claridad. Por lo que nosotros tuvimos que hacer un esfuerzo bien grande, para no reírnos ante las muchas hipótesis que nos hicimos por lo que pudo haber provocado aquel reclamo.

Pero el que mayor cambio tuvo en su estado ánimo, fue el amigo mío, quien estaba leyendo sus textos, de forma muy solemne y seria, y de pronto puso una cara de risa tal, que tuvo que levantarse corriendo para no soltar una carcajada delante de la pareja.
