Great simultaneous in the park / Gran simultánea en el parque (eng-esp)
Hello, chess friends ♟️.
Yesterday I took my stepsons to participate in a simultaneous chess match held in Maceo Park in our city.
When we arrived, an entertainer was calling passersby to participate in the simultaneous match, either actively or as spectators.
We were able to see how they were setting up the tables with the boards.
And so, little by little, the chess players took their seats. Men, children, and women played side by side against two International Grandmasters.
Something that pleasantly surprised me was the large participation of children. That gives hope for the future of this sport in my country.
Well, children and teenagers, like mine.
Each Grandmaster took charge of a row of competitors.
And the public passing through the park remained expectant, waiting to see the final result of the simultaneous match.
In the end, only three chess players were able to tie with the great International Masters. The others suffered defeat.
If I find out in time, I'll participate next year. I just have to train hard, because from what I've seen, my level right now isn't up to a draw, much less to beat them.
But I'll do it.

Ayer me llevé a mis hijastros para que participaran en una simultánea de ajedrez que se realizó en el parque Maceo de nuestra ciudad.
Cuando llegamos, un animador estaba llamando a los transeúntes para que participaran en la simultánea, de forma activa o como espectadores.
Pudimos apreciar cómo iban preparando las mesas con los tableros.
Y así, poco a poco, fueron tomando asiento los trebejistas en sus asientos. Hombres, niños y mujeres jugaron codo a codo contra dos Grandes Maestros Internacionales.
Algo que me sorprendió gratamente fue la gran participación de niños.
Eso da esperanzas para el futuro de este deporte en mi país.
Bueno, niños y adolescentes, como los míos.
Cada gran Maestro se hizo cargo de una hilera de competidores.
Y el público que pasaba por el parque, se mantuvo espectante, para ver el resultado final de la simultánea.
Al final, solo tres trebejistas pudieron empatar con los grandes Maestros Internacionales. Los demás sufrieron la derrota.
Si me entero a tiempo, participaré el próximo años. Solo tengo que entrenar bastante, porque por lo que ví, mi nivel ahora no da para un empate, mucho menos para derrotarlos.
Pero lo haré.
