Coffee and my mom: a family outing / El café y mi mamá una salida en familia (eng-esp)

Hello coffee friends around the world.
I hadn't seen my mom in a few months, and yesterday I returned home for a week's vacation with my family.
But my wife and kids are arriving early this morning, so I had almost 16 hours alone with my mom, so I decided not to waste any time and spend some quality time with her.

My mother doesn't lack refined or elaborate tastes; rather, she's quite down-to-earth and easy to please:
She likes pizza, malt, and coffee.

So I decided to take her to one of the coffee shops I had discovered on my previous trip with Elvira.
I took her to La Chela.

They had this takeout option on the outdoor patio. However, they also had outdoor tables for smokers and those who preferred the sun and the view of the street.

We prefer to be in the air-conditioned living room. It's summer, so the cold air from the splits is much appreciated.

I also preferred the air-conditioned living room because I knew my mother would like it. She likes that kind of decor, which mixes modern elements with others that resemble vintage props.

Also, I wanted her to see how she could read the letter from her phone, just by scanning the QR code.

The first thing, and I don't think this will ever change as a mother, was to order a good cup of coffee.
Coffee is the universal unifier of conversations.
All of them, from the most trivial to the most important, flow better with a good cup of coffee in front of them.
And, although we talk every day, it's not the same when we're face to face.
Over a cup of coffee, we caught up, but we also ordered more things.

This time, my mom surprised me because instead of ordering a pizza, as I thought she would, she decided to order a glass of tres leches.

Of course she had to share it with me. Because I wanted to see how it paired with coffee. And believe me, it pairs wonderfully well.

On the way back home, to round off a day full of coffee, we stopped by a coffee stand and bought a pack of one of our favorite coffee brands.

Because, with family on the way, there's nothing better than waiting for them with an excellent hot coffee to drink at home.
Coffee and family are a combination I'll never tire of trying.

Hola amigos del café alrededor del mundo.
Llevaba algunos meses sin ver a mi mamá y el día de ayer regresé a casa, para pasarme una semana de vacaciones junto con mi familia.
Pero mi esposa y los niños llegan hoy en la madrugada, así que tenía casi 16 horas a solas con mi madre, por lo que decidí no perder el tiempo y pasar un rato de calidad con ella.

Mi madre no deja de tener gustos finos ni rebuscados, más bien es bastante sencilla y fácil de complacer:
Le gusta la pizza, la malta y el café.
Así que decidí llevarla a una de las cafeterías que había descubierto en mi viaje anterior con Elvira.
La llevé a La Chela.

En el patio exterior tenían esta oferta, para llevar. Sin embargo también mantenían las mesas al aire libre para los fumadores y aquellos que preferían el sol, la vista al exterior, a la calle.

Nosotros preferimos estar en el salón climatizado. Estamos en verano, así que se agradece bastante el frío de los splits.

También preferí el salón climatizado porque sabía que sería del gusto de mi madre. A ella le gusta ese tipo de decoración, que mezcla elementos modernos, con otros que se asemejan la utilería vintage.

Además, quería que viera cómo podía leer la carta desde el mismo celular, con solo escanear el código QR.

Lo primero y esto no creo que cambie nunca en madre, fue pedir una buena taza de café.
El café es el unificador universal de las conversaciones.
Todas, desde las más nimias hasta las más importantes, fluyen mejor con un buen café delante.
Y, aunque hablamos todos los días, no es lo mismo cuando estamos frente a frente.
Con una taza de café nos pusimos al día, pero también pedimos más cosas.

En esta ocasión, mi mamá me sorprendió ya que en lugar de pedir una pizza, como creí que haría, decidió ordenar un vaso con dulce de tres leches.

Por supuesto que tuvo que compartirlo conmigo. Porque quería probar qué tal combinaba con el café. Y créame que combina maravillosamente bien.

Ya de regreso a la casa, para completar un día bien cafetero, pasamos por un puesto y compramos un paquete de una de los marcas de café preferida por nosotros dos.

Porque, ya que viene la familia en camino, nada mejor que esperarlos con un excelente café caliente para que se lo beban en casa.
El café junto con la familia son una combinación de la que nunca me cansaré de probar.
