Physical Books or Ebooks: An Endless Struggle
Ahhhhhrrggg this is a really tough choice being someone who loves reading and acquiring knowledge, but if I were to I would lean more towards physical books, call me eccentric but I feel that physical books have some sort of charm to it. There's something that is just warm about sitting, surrounded by piles of books, with the sound of silence, being curled up in bed, all cozy, with a very interesting novel and a pencil or highlighter ready to mark word you've not seen before or don't understand and the favorite parts or lines you found intriguing and even writing little notes behind on how that particular line or character made you feel and we all know that nothing actually beats that book smell, whether new or old and the sound of the pages rustling in silence as you turn them over, makes the book and the story more personal and real which makes reading more like an experience, only real book lover would understand.
But with tech and more digital outlets books have been made more accessible and convenient. Imagine being able to carry an entire library in one device, immediately lookup definition and phrases and highlight text and adjust the size of text and other things to your preference.
And although I swear to be a physical book girly, I have countless ebooks and pdfs of my favorite books and novels cause hardcopies are really expensive and sometimes hard to find, gone are the days were you have to go the library or trek to the bookstore to get books, let me share my experience of when I was I little younger, I was In JSS 2 to be precise I had an obsession with one of my book series " Diary of a Wimpy Kid", when I went to the bookstore to get my textbooks I saw that the book had other series and when I asked for the price and I was shocked to the bone when the bookseller said that it was 2500 and mind you, I was just getting 200 as pocket money then, just imagine how much I'll have to save up for a series with 5-6 books at that time. I felt my hopes crushed and it was just to expensive to continue, but fast forward now I have 8 books of this series in PDF format.

But as efficient as ebooks I still feel like I am not connected with the text unlike a physical book, where I can feel each sentence, each word and let's not mention how easy it is to get distracted reading something on a device. I am someone who loses focus easily and with just one pop of notifications I can easily switch to another app and that totally forget what I was reading earlier.
So in my view, a little bit of both, where on fails the other can cover up for it. Although hardcopy add to charm and whole experience of reading, let's not forget to mention how hardcopy give "smart girl" vibe, they are heavy and don't get me started on the endless search of books that are out of print in bookstores but ebooks makes up for that. Although ebooks don't give that personal connection and offers distractions, a physical book comes in, so a little bit of this, a little bit of that—whether this or that entirely depends on ur preference and what u enjoy— ebooks for when you are on the go and a physical book when you want a relaxed and warm vibe.
Thanks for Reading 😊

The marking of works hits so real good.
People that go with ebooks, I wonder how they go about marking such words
